Note: Army has six wins, but two of them have come against FCS schools. Army will be fully bowl eligible if it beats Navy, but that game will not take place until after the bowl pairings are set. Army will still be the first team able to fill an open spot if there are not enough bowl eligible teams for all the games because teams with six wins, but two against FCS schools, get priority over 5-7 teams.

South Alabama could be in the same position as Army if it beats New Mexico State to finish 6-6. The Jaguars cannot be eligible if they lose to the Aggies and finish 5-7 because two of their wins will be over FCS schools.

Also, Hawaii Rainbow Warriors has five wins, but seven losses. A win over UMass will make the Warriors 6-7, which is still not bowl eligible, but they would have priority over 5-7 teams if there aren't enough eligible teams for all the games. Army has priority over Hawaii if only one of them is needed
