Highlights of the 15 point win in Baton Rouge in 1996, enjoy!

We could use a Reid and Bradley right now.

A lot of players on this team only played on there that year. Marlon Towns, Antwon Hall for examples.

Darnell Robinson loved shooting 3s. Lee Wilson had regressed at that point. Those two should've dominated that season and Robinson hurt his foot and Wilson just never really blossomed into what was needed out of him.

Landis Williams seemed like a pretty good role player. Ali Thompson as well.
Identity theft is not a joke, Jim. Millions of families suffer every year.

I'd rather have hood from that team. I loved his tenacity on the boards
I'd rather be dead than be a Vol

Nice to have Nick Davis at the 4 on this year's team

Did Reid have eyes in the back of his head?  He always seems to know where the other four players were.  One of my favorite hogs

Imagine Thurman and Corliss as SR's on that team.

If they had been on there, there's no reason to think they wouldn't have made a third straight Final Four trip.

What if just Thurman stayed?

Would've helped tremendously as well. Just his consistency. That team was really talented but wildly inconsistent. Still made Sweet 16 as a 12 seed.

Just Thurman on that team would've made a big difference. Thurman, Reid, Bradley and Pate, before he was ruled inelgible, would've been fun to watch.

Loved the uniforms

After watching that made me miss Quin Buckner doing basketball games.  He always seemed to speak highly of Nolan and the Hogs.

Plus we lost Pate and Adebayo.

There ended up being 4 highly recruited JUCO players that never made the roster in 1996, or never stayed that long: Sunday Adebayo, 6'11" center Kareem Poole, point guard Marcus Saxon and shooting guard Jesse Pate.

We had talent in 1996-2000, but we just lacked depth. Nolan missing out on those JUCO kids to replenish the roster really hurt our momentum following 1994 and 1995.

Marcus Saxon would've been a big help in 95-96 cause Reid was the only pg on the roster.  Antwon Hall and Marlon Townes both left after that season too.  The lack of depth really hurt the 96-97 team.

A lot of blame for the downfall of our program can be pointed at the failed recruiting following the 1994/1995 seasons.

Completely agree, but I think a lot of it might have been self-inflicted. The NCAA investigation was bogus.

Out of the 95-96 class only Reid, Hood, Bradley and Nick Davis didn't leave.  The next two classes, which were 3 man classes only had on guy out of each class stay and one of them Tarick Wallace was a juco kid.  Those three years hurt

Yep, and then you had Chris Jefferies as well who didn't stay. He ended up becoming a star at Fresno State.

That 2000-2001 team would have had Pargo, Dean, Gipson, Joe Johnson, and Chris Jefferies. Then, factor in McDonald All-American Glendon Alexander leaving after one year as well.

That team would've been full of the guards and swingmen Nolan loved.

This.  The NCAA screwd the Hogs.  Always felt the NCAA had it in for Nolan and Tark

We also had a big man that didnt make it to campus. Last name was Poole.

Marcus Saxon not making it was huge. He was big time at Utah State.

Kareem! Couldnt remember his first name.

Alot of things just came together for our BB program to crumble.

Our recruiting back then just flat out stunk.
Justin Hankins, Jason Gilbert, Jason Jennings etc etc. It was bad.

All good kids. Just weren't cut out for the system or to be big-time players in a major D1 program.

Oh yea. No denying that whatsoever.
I really liked Heath and Pel as men but they were both way way way in over their heads.
