Stupid decision not to call timeouts

That was dumb to not try to score b4 second half, just let the clock run down.. dumb! BTW... Allen can't throw the ball if there is no one to throw it to! I seen our receiver #7 being held which may have resulted in a big first down. Guess Jerry Jones needs to pony up more money for the refs....

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.

Now that being said im pretty sure ive seen us sit on the ball before haltime just before we laid an egg in the 2nd half.
Wait a minute this isn't chinese checkers.. This isn't even regular checkers!

It was the right decision, after the loss of yardage on 1st down.

TAMU has timeouts of their own, and our defense is, to be kind, on its heels at the moment.

You get positive yardage, you look at going down the field, preserving the clock.  You find yourself in 3rd and long on the wrong side of the 50,  you don't preserve the clock for your opposition.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

That 3rd down play was stupid and dangerous. Would have been smarter just to take a knee and kick it off. Horrible play call.

Three timeouts, with the ball at our 40 something yard line, and 40 something seconds left.  You use the timeouts and take three long shots down the field.  Petrino would have, I guarantee you.

But Mr. Conservative decides to run out the clock

Throw the ball on 1st down and lose yardage.   2nd down gets a nice, but not great gainer.  Screw up the play clock.      That's not conducive to being aggressive, when the other team has momentum and 3 timeouts

Erie, you've explained this well. And I'm kinda buying it, even if I don't want to. However, when our coaching staff talks about it, I won't buy it.

It's just goes hand in hand with his play not to lose philosophy that has worked so well
