Just came across the latest College Baseball top 25 (most quit making the rankings after the tournament starts; The National Collegiate Baseball Writer's poll continues).

We finished the season ranked somewhere around 11-13 in all the polls, and power rankings.  As of today, we are in 13th in the RPI, a hair out of 11th (which I predict is where we will finish, because two teams we played a lot of games against are in Omaha and will continue to positively boost our SOS, even if they lose).  But in the NCBWA poll, after we won3 of 5 games in the Regional we hosted, we dropped down to #22?

It doesn't matter - but that's just ridiculous.  Any other time of the season, those results against competition of that caliber, we might drop a spot or two.  It's obvious that they have ignored the rest of the season and put the Super Regional teams at the top.  Dropping #2 UNC to 16th was ridiculous as well.

Notice that Texas, with a much worse record and SOS, is ranked ahead of us.  Yes - they showed well in the regional, while we also barely missed out advancing, but their group of teams was much easier than ours.  I still wish they had been sent to Fayetteville.

Texas didn't advance to the Supers.  They got beat by Long Beach State.

You are all correct, of course.  I kinda dropped out after we lost to Mo. State, and at that time Texas was 2-0 in their regional.  I had forgotten that they subsequently got beat twice and denied the Super.

My bad.

Still, that makes them being ranked ahead of us all the more ludicrous.

Agreed.

You dropped out and apparently so did these voters.

You are correct.  I agree with the whole premise of this thread and the fact that Texas got beat makes it worse.
