Monday Morning Quarterback / Re: Snaxx headed to portal

Quote from: Salty spork on Today at 10:21:21 amyes. Because the NIL is not tied to schools. So if someone offers them more they can leave.

But you can too. You can quit your job and go work somewhere else.

The system is broken and not great for college football. But none of that is on the players. They are just doing what any sane person would do in their shoes. Many of these guys will not go to the NFL. So if they can make some money in this season they should. If they are smart they will leave college with a degree, a house and a good start on lifetime financial security. Even if they miss the NFL.
REALLY! ! ! !  ;D  Do tell! ::)

Yes, wasn't knocking it, just adding to the list of who the transfer portal benefits.

Quote from: ChitownHawg on Today at 12:03:59 amYou mean the issues that Sam created and has now fixed them? Dude should have found an OC similar to Briles but no he wanted to change schemes.

I just find it bazaar people give praise for fixing a problem his ignorance created. It shouldn't be praised but expected of him.

The hiring of Cal may have sealed Sam's fate regardless of the number of wins. The money people may say "Do in football what you did in basketball. We then will increase our contributions."

The Basketball team and The Football team are not connected. Back when Nolan was winning championships, I don't remember any added pressure being put on the football team. Both programs are expected to win.

As far as last year's football team; we disagree on the two major issues. I don't blame Enos, I blame KJ. He quit. He was the team leader, so the other players followed his lead. The LSU game proved that KJ could have executed the new system if he had put effort into it.

The other issue I disagree with you on is whether or not Sam Pittman should have known a disaster was coming. I don't see how he could have known how badly it was going to go. Once it started happening, especially the team quitting, it was too out of control for him to right the ship.

2024 is going to tell us a lot.

Yea, this looks weaker than any class he ever had here. Elohim is a good get and I bet Agbo and thomas have a good season, but there are multiple guys we'd turn our nose up at during the Muss era IMO. He's got a good eye for talent though, they could end up being great.

Sounds like we have a shot. Staying in the draft is another possibility.

That's my understanding, too.

Not even close what?  He is putting together a nice roster for having moved over there a few weeks ago.  No need to tear him down just because he left here the way he did.

Also, I'm not saying they're going to be really good or contend for anything of note.  He's just getting some decent pieces for a roster that looked a lot like ours when he left here.

Thomas, Pope, Cohen, Agee, and Agbo can play.  Eloheim has a ton of potential.  He used to be a 5-star.  The two ivy league guys are pretty good as well.  Again, I'm not saying he's going to win the NC or anything, but the roster is coming together pretty well for him.
