QuoteNORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Marvin Bagley Jr. was quick to respond when told of reports that his son, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2018, might reclassify into 2017 and play college basketball next season.

"Hey, ask the guy who started the rumor, they know more than what I can tell you," Bagley Jr. told FanRagSports.com following his Nike Phamily's victory over the NY Lightning, in which 6-foot-11 Marvin Bagley III went off for 30 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks in front of Kentucky's John Calipari and Kenny Payne, among others.

Asked again if reclassifying was something they are considering, Bagley Jr., said: "You should probably ask CBS Sports; it seems like they know more than I know. That's my answer, ask CBS Sports."

If Bagley, a rising senior at Sierra Canyon (Calif.) High School who has been compared to a young Amare' Stoudemire, were to reclassify into 2017, he would be eligible for the 2018 NBA Draft, where he could potentially challenge incoming Missouri freshman Michael Porter Jr., incoming Arizona freshman DeAndre Ayton and incoming Texas freshman Mohamed Bamba for the No. 1 pick in 2018.

One NBA executive said he doesn't think Bagley would supplant the 6-foot-10 Porter Jr. as the presumptive No. 1 pick in 2018.

"Not today," the executive said. "My guys tell me Porter is still 1."

Meanwhile, Bagley has scheduled several upcoming college visits, including one to Duke after the Peach Jam.

Robinson could also opt to go overseas. Of course, this all predicated on him not returning to Western Kentucky. Don't count $tansbury out.

"It's not going to be a quick deal," the source said, speaking generally about reclassification. "This kid's been high-profile for a while and most likely this evaluation is going to take some time just because he's moved around and he hasn't even gone through an amateurism certification yet."

Remember, Robinson is a New Orleans native. Would not be shocked if he lands at LSU. But Stansbury could block him from certain schools.

source told ESPN Robinson doesn't want to play at WKU. Would be OK transferring, sitting this year.

Don't count $tansbury out.

Having Stansbury on staff paid dividends for Texas A&M when they signed that huge freshman class of Gilder, Hogg, and Davis. We need a ace in the hole recruiter from outside.
