There are most likely going to be 5 or 6 openings in the SEC this year.  These programs are going to hire new coaches and restore HOPE and EXCITEMENT to their fanbases.  We have hit rock bottom and things could not be worse.  It would be very disheartening for our fanbase not to follow suit.   If he is not gone this season then he may never be. It is very likely he will get to 7-5 next season.  Then, it will be extension time.  The nightmare will likely continue for 8 or 9 years like with NUTT.  With all that being said, common sense says he has to be gone, right?

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

Or Long could unite the fan base. Isn't it wonderful how every situation has multiple options, just depends on a person's view.
My ole buddy Biscuit has crossed that rainbow bridge. Life sure is different without him around.

A lot of variables go into the mix when it comes to both the team's success (or lack thereof) as well as what may or may not happen when it comes to CBB. However, things go in the future I seriously and completely doubt that JL is purposely going to make decisions designed to "destroy the fan base". Look, I understand the desire to try to find a HC that can do a much better job of competing and delivering better records in the SEC. However, to say that an AD would go out of his way to purposely undermine the support and following of fans is ludicrous as well as basically asking that his own job be put into possible jeopardy. BTW I'm personally tired of hearing the old "Long is a yankee carpetbagger". Such infantile baloney!!! Quit trying to refight the Civil War after 160 + years.

He has already.
