Just an FYI for anyone interested,  in Clay Travis's column today he predicts which jobs will be open and which coach will fill it:

"Here's my prediction on who each school hires: Florida: Scott Frost, Tennessee: Dan Mullen, UCLA: Chip Kelly, Nebraska: Mike Leach, Arkansas: Mike Norvell, and Texas A&M: Chad Morris."

Why wouldn't Nebraska go after the head coaches at Northern Illinois or Toledo.  Both programs are doing well and both recruit the Midwest.

Nebraska hired Washington States AD. That's the reason for the Leach pick

Mullen doesn't leave Ms St, Norvell ends up at Tenn.  Or Florida. Frost goes back to Nebraska.  Ark ?

Norvell won't go to Tenn if we offer.

We really don't know that.
Geoff Calkins, sports editor of the Commercial Appeal, has stated that on his radio show.  That's good enough for me.

There's some evidence to suggest it, but we really have no idea.

No one can predict the future, that's true.  But Norvell has made it as clear as possible even to my Memphis booster friends that he considers Arkansas "home". This says a lot for a sitting head coach who's team is in the Playoff Poll & will possibly play in a NYD bowl like the Cotton.

They will not get  New Years Day Bowl.  UCF will represent the Group of Five for that spot barring a major collapse.

They'll likely have to play Memphis in their Conference Championship game first.

It wouldnt be a major collapse if ucf lost to usf on the final game. If this happens ucf wont even make their conference championship.

You think it'll be anything like their first meeting this year?

Hogs have hit a wall at the wrong time of the season.  I will go on record now and say they may not even get out of their regional.  The hitting has been carrying them with a few good pitching outings but they just don't have the reliable pitching they need to get back to the CWS.

Nope. It's much more difficult to beat a conference opponent twice in one year.

Perhaps it'd be closer.  Blowouts are no fun to watch.

I believe we do, Word is he wanted to come to the Hill before.
If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

It's very unlikely that tenner steals Memphis' coach.

As far as they're concerned Memphis is their equivalent of Conway.  No way the PTB could sell that hire to their fans.

I guess he figures that no one is willing to pay Campbell's buyout.

Rocky Top will.

They'd be better off spending it on Campbell than they would be on Gruden.imo
