KNOXVILLE -- Redshirt freshman forward Jabari McGhee will transfer from Tennessee's basketball program at the end of the fall semester, the program announced Tuesday night in a release.

The 6-foot-5 McGhee averaged 3.8 points and 3.2 rebounds...

"Jabari and I had a great discussion about what he wants," first-year Tennessee coach Rick Barnes said in Tennessee's release. "He's a team guy, and what he ultimately wants is to have a more impactful role on his team, which I understand.

"We'll do everything we can to help him find a school that is the right fit for him."

In the season opener, McGhee had nine points and six rebounds, and he scored 10 points with four boards in the loss at Georgia Tech.

After signing with Tennessee last spring out of Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia, McGhee played in eight games before undergoing season-ending foot surgery.

He averaged about 10-12 minutes per game for the Vols.

State's thin frontcourt got thinner this week with the announcement that sophomore forward Fallou Ndoye intends to transfer.

Head coach Ben Howland met with Ndoye on Monday and announced his transfer following the Bulldogs' 93-69 win over Northern Colorado in Jackson on Wednesday night.

"I have nothing but good things to say about Fallou," Howland said. "He's a great kid and his teammates love him. I just think this is a good move for him because this level is not one where he's going to get a lot of minutes. I think playing at a lower Division I will give him an opportunity to do that."

The 6-foot-10, 242-pounder from Senegal had appeared in six games this season...

Ndoye is the second player to transfer this semester joining Demetrius Houston. Maurice Dunlap and Oliver Black have also transferred since Howland arrived.

Memphis was already in dire need of offensive help for next season with three of its top four scorers having exhausted their eligibility and its best player, freshman forward Dedric Lawson, testing the NBA waters.

Now the Tigers have yet another hole to fill following junior guard Avery Woodson's announcement on social media Sunday that he plans to transfer.

Woodson, the team's top 3-point threat the last two seasons, is slated to graduate from Memphis this spring and will be eligible to play immediately at another school next season as a graduate transfer.

The 6-foot-2, 189-pound Waynesboro, Mississippi, native averaged 9.6 points and 2.6 rebounds for the Tigers this season, starting 15 of 32 games before missing the team's final two games with a shoulder injury.

He shot 43 percent from 3-point range and his 77 3-pointers were the fifth-most in a single season in Tigers history. Woodson will have one year of eligibility at his next school, having played one season at East Mississippi Community College (John Franklin III) before arriving at Memphis in 2014.

Woodson would be the fourth former Tigers starter to transfer out of the program since last spring, joining Nick King (Alabama), Pookie Powell (La Salle) and Austin Nichols (Virginia).
