South Carolina QB Connor Mitch to graduate, transfer this summer

"Connor and I spoke today," Gamecocks coach Will Muschamp said in a release issued by the school. "Connor has the opportunity to graduate from South Carolina this summer and will look to continue his playing career at another university in the fall. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors."

Mitch, a North Carolina native, won the starting job for the Gamecocks in fall camp last year. He led South Carolina to a season-opening victory over North Carolina, but suffered a hip injury late in the game and played sparingly the remainder of the season.

Has two to play two.

Vanderbilt wide receiver Ronald Monroe has left the program and will transfer

Monroe's transfer is the second at wide receiver this offseason for the Commodores after Rashad Canty left. That leaves five returning scholarship players and three incoming freshman at the wide receiver position for Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt has now lost four players from the 2014 recruiting class to transfer.

Stevie Tu'ikolovatu, a graduate transfer from Utah, visited Alabama, a possible destination for his final year of eligibility. He played in all 13 games for the Utes last season, totaling 28 tackles (six for a loss), two sacks and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Rising sophomore defensive back Tim Irvin is leaving Auburn.

Irvin is the nephew of NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin.

Nearly two weeks after being dismissed by Alabama, Charles Baldwin find himself in a different part of the country.

The former junior college transfer visited Louisville on Tuesday and paid a visit to Temple last week...

"I just felt I wasn't comfortable or happy," Tim Irvin told 247Sports. "Auburn is a good school. I felt they could've used me different."

The implications of his transfer are interesting to say the least. Irvin started as the team's nickelback in cornerback-heavy defensive packages as a true freshman last year.

The former four-star cornerback from South Florida and nephew of Pro Football Hall of Fame WR Michael Irvin originally committed to Texas before flipping to Auburn.

A former four-star recruit, the 6-foot-1, 215-pound Burgess-Becker was entering his sophomore season with the Tide.

The Coconut Creek, Florida native played in 13 games last season, contributing on special teams.

This is the net of what I have heard from the Texas side.

Was a Mack Brown recruit that was thrown in too early as a 275lb RS Freshman in 2014 due to an injury to a 5th year Senior. Started 5 games and then replaced by a 300lb RS Junior. Played behind him the rest of the year.  Started RT in the Alamo bowl and had 2 false start penalties on the edge.  OL coach got pissed and pulled him and that was the last time he saw the field at Texas aside from 15 plays against Kansas. Played behind 5th year senior in 2015.

Worked hard, gained quality weight to 304 and earned the right to transfer anywhere not on Texas's schedule by graduating early.  Has a chip on his shoulder as the Texas faithful turned on him when he announced his transfer. This is primarily a football decision for him. He never applied to Texas graduate school.

A defensive back that recently left Alabama is likely transferring to a school in his homestate of Florida.

There is a "98 percent" chance that safety Shawn Burgess-Becker transfers to Central Florida, a source close to Burgess-Becker told AL.com.

Bulldogs are adding Tulsa defensive back J.R. Reed

Reed is listed at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds and originally from Frisco, Texas. He is the cousin of 5-star Georgia target Deangelo Gibbs, who is the No. 2 recruit in the state of Georgia for the Class of 2017.

Reed is the son of Jake Reed, a former Minnesota Vikings receiver, and the nephew of former Kansas City Chiefs safety Dale Carter.

Former Kentucky football player Jason Hatcher was dismissed from the Wildcats program in February following a drug-related arrest.

Hatcher will transfer to West Georgia and expects to play his senior season this fall.

"I believe this fresh start will be very huge for me, because I'm coming down here without the past I had at Kentucky from high school on up," Hatcher told The Courier-Journal.

Alvin Bailey expected to transfer

Florida Gators wide receiver Alvin Bailey will transfer from the school, SEC Country confirmed Sunday.

Bailey, a redshirt junior, saw limited action last season, catching three passes for 49 yards. Outside of that, he had seen action on special teams. He appeared in a total of 16 games during his stint with the Gators, but the three receptions were his only offensive production during that time.

Florida also saw another receiver announce his intention to transfer in Ryan Sousa last month.

Sources: Alabama being uncooperative with Maurice Smith's transfer attempt

Senior defensive back Maurice Smith wants to transfer, but has been unsuccessful getting a release despite several attempts during the last month.

Smith, who was the Tide's first-team nickel back during the spring, is now going through an appeal process, according to sources.

The Texas native is set to graduate in early August.

Georgia, Miami, Maryland, Louisville and USC are among the schools that have been in contact with Smith since he first received permission to speak to other schools in mid-June.

Former LSU quarterback Anthony Jennings has signed with Louisiana-Lafayette, the school announced.

Jennings, a senior, will be immediately eligible to play for the Ragin' Cajuns this fall as a graduate transfer. He was LSU's primary starting quarterback as a sophomore in 2014, but lost his job to Brandon Harris the following season.

Jennings played in 13 games at LSU in 2014, completing 111 of 227 passes for 1,611 yards with 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He did not see any action last season (on the field).

"We are excited about Anthony joining our program and competing for the starting quarterback position this fall," UL-Lafayette coach Mark Hudspeth said. "He has been a starting quarterback in the SEC and he led his team to nine wins. Being a senior, he will bring a wealth of experience to the position."
