Would change his mind with Florida regressing and Arkansas progressing?

Hawg Red

He needs to. Our backcourt would be insane.

FATHAWG08

Whatever the reason, this needs to get fixed. I want all Arkansas kids with his talent to play for the Hogs! Good Guard play win games
I love off season Football!!

I am no insider, but from what I have heard, there is no interest from either side at this point. Qualls, Beard, Bell, Whitt, Hannahs, Babb and Durham. Not much room for a Guard, we need another big.

hawgfan4life

Arkansas recruited him very hard until he committed.  AR wasn't good enough for him then and he has had ample time to contact AR if interested.  Good luck and good bye.  Hello Hannah's and Whitt.

TeedupHigh

Isn't he a North Little Rock Kid............Those boys are way to good to play for those lowly HOGS!

Seriously, what's up with that? K Allen, KJ Hill, Tenpenny all left. Archie Goodwin from Sylvan Hills left.
Hogs did get M Spaight and J Day, and Anton Beard.

Maybe we should play fewer games in LR!

michaels

pretty positive arkansas is still recruiting him. waiting for him to be an absolute to qualify, i believe?
we were definitely still on him, as of 2-3 weeks ago

Hawg Red

No qualification issues with Allen. Don't know where that info would come from.

The_Bionic_Pig

Allen has a influence of sorts that is dictating decision.  The door is still open but he must first decomitt.

I wouldn't be surprised if a transfer occurs after the tourney opening a spot for Melvin Frazier (SF)

michaels

asked a coach about it in passing 2-3 weeks ago. said we're still recruiting him & that kevaughn would fit nicely in our system. also said he opened back up his recruitment, but that he was waiting on something, can't quite remember......
would be an awesome get.
Beard, Allen, Whitt, Bell, solid backcourt

I wonder who would transfer?

makiavelli

Maybe Miles would transfer? I really think he could contribute next year though.

I'd hope Babb or Thompson wouldn't transfer. I think they'd be playing next year and beyond

Big Nasty 34

Only one I really see transferring is Babb. I sure hope not cause I think he will be very good for us in the future. Just looking at body language, though, he seems discontent.

I wish MA would give Babb the minutes he gives Durham.  I think Babb has more upside and can do more things with and without the ball.

Babb was always a player that was going to need a year to develop. He had just grown a few inches, he has all the athleticism, but he just needs some time. Babb's biggest issue right now is he plays with ZERO confidence.

I think once he gets older and feels more a part of the rotation, his numbers will shoot up quick.

The_Iceman

Our backcourt right now going into 2015:

PG: Beard / Durham
G: Bell / Whitt / Hannahs
G: Qualls / Watkins / Babb

Unless Qualls leaves, there really isn't a clear open spot in the backcourt for Allen right away. I'm wondering if he is scared off by that and likes his chances at Florida better.

If I were a coach, I wouldn't let someone like Jabril Durham or even a specialist like Bell or Hannahs stand in my way when looking to acquire a top 50, homegrown talent.

I'm hearing the team to be concerned with is Texas a&m. I'm not $ure why Texa$ a&m became a $eriou$ contender all of a $udden.

If Miles transferred he would have to go to a smaller school to play because he's already used his redshirt year.

The way Florida's been playing this year I would definitely have to do some rethinking.

Yep- and same with Miles for Melvin Frazier

Both those two will be Srs in line for minimal PT/impact and when you can bring in 2 outstanding potential 4 year players...APR is now fine so no need to hang on to recruiting misses when u have a chance to better ur team not just next year, but the next 4

Allen is a complimentary player, not someone you build a team around at this level.

Unless you want to be stuck with ONLY Arkansas kids, you better treat the guys already on your team with some loyalty.

I understand you are pro Allen, but if there is any truth to the rumor that he and Beard don't get along, then I don't think Allen would fit this system well. Beard's mentality is perfect for this system. If Allen is at odds with that type of mind set, he would be better served to go elsewhere and we would be smart to let him.

Not saying he isn't good, but I am not sure he is a good FIT.

Not unless he graduates in May, which he should be on pace to. Can transfer as a graduate and be immediately eligible.

Do you consider Anton Beard a complimentary player? Would you have made room for Beard? Allen certainly isn't a Bobby Portis-type but few guys are. Few guys in college basketball can have a team built around them. Bit of an unfair standard to hold someone to, IMO. Allen isn't a superstar but he's not a specialist or role player, either. He has All-SEC potential.

I don't want to be stuck with only Arkansas kids, just the nationally ranked ones. The numbers always work themselves out. Durham on pace to graduate? I'm sure Miles is. I wouldn't worry about players that play less than 10 minutes a game when deciding if I should make room for someone that is a nationally ranked, top 50 talent. It's not hard...

I have no idea if that rumor is legit or not. Just like I don't know if the rumor that the coaches have let it be known to Allen that he has a spot if he wants to come is true. If that's true, Mike is thinking like me.

Bigger question to me would be. Is this bad season enough for Billy to decide on taking a NBA job..... And keep it more than a few days this time

Florida has certainly under-achieved this year.  They should probably have 4 or 5 more wins than they do when you throw in their non-conference schedule.  They'll be having four 4-stars coming in next year.  I don't see why they shouldn't be a Top 25 team once again next year.  I think that should Donovan leave, they will have an Indiana-esque falling from grace after his recruits cycle out.

They get along great..Allen is the ultimate team player. He wil do whatever he is asked to do. If its score, he can score, if its lead, he can lead.
Last year Anton was the clear leader and Kevaughn had NO problem with that!

Chill...I didn't say anything..
Im not stating rumor..Im stating fact. Beard transferred from Parkview to NLR to play with Kevaughn.
The only reason Beard ever left NLR was because at the time NLR would not allow freshman to play on varsity because they were on 2 different campuses( some AAA rule at the time)

NLR Athletics are not dirty...Bolding will get his job back( IMO ) and the state tittle should be returned....

Cresthog

Don't see why he would be hot on Florida.

You make room for Allen regardless.

Whitt, Allen and Kapita would be a hell of a class. I really wish he would see the light or we knew what exactly was going on. It makes zero sense.
