I have to admit that I was against this hire.  Gave it a "D", with the chance of moving up to a "C" with the right DC on board.  My opinions were based on the level of defense we played last year versus the level that SMU played in a much weaker conference.  SMU's was worse. 

The DC isn't coming with him.  WIN.
He is bringing his OC.  WIN.
He is bringing his WR coach.  WIN.
He is bringing his OL coach.  WIN.

What made me change my mind is listening to him talk about what he thinks is important, and in doing so said a lot of things that appeal to me.  I would want to play for him and I would want my son to play for him.  I guess that means you like a guy.

We want him to have immediate success, and a lot of things have to fall right for that to happen.  Good early signing period.  Good signing day in February.  Good DC hire. 

I don't think we have to worry about him being a good guy.  He is.

From all accounts - he is a good guy with values we all should be able to support. Glad we got him, and excited for the future of the program.
