I wish we would hire MN as he walks off the field today.

I like the way you think.  Norvell is going somewhere.  I seriously doubt if he is at Memphis next year.

It really is this simple. Unchecked government power leads to corruption, and lack of accountability for it is drastically eroding confidence in our institutions.    aristotle

If he stays, it will be for one more year.  He will get a P5 job.  We may be regretting not hiring him like we did with Jimmy Johnson.

That seems to be how things work around here. Do the hiring and firing on the field

The Gus Cult will sacrifice pigs for their leader, Gus.

MC_Hog

The only way Auburn is getting a new coach is if Gus takes the Florida St. job

Yup, you took the words right out of my mouth. We will look back and wonder why we didn't hire Norvell.

Anyone who wouldn't be excited about a Norvell hire has some sort of agenda.

dhornjr1

The argument that I have heard for Lane Kiffin coming to Arkansas makes even more sense for him going to Auburn. He apparently has a major hard-on for Nick Saban and wants to bring him down.

Auburn would make much more sense if that is the case.

You'll have to wait.  He's going to overtime because they gave up 48 points.  That's what scares me about Norvell.  Love the offense, but the defensive side is a concern.

What doesn't scare me about him is that he got to OT against a team ranked higher than him in the top 25

He scored 48 as well, so it washed out. Does it really matter how many points you give up if you score more than the other team?

I know the argument is that you can't consistently score more than the other team, but the same goes for great defensive coaches. It's not about what you can do every game, but what you can do about 75-80% of the time.

imtad16

I hope not. Mike Norvell at Auburn with that defense would be scary.

Nope, they'll likely make the monumental mistake and hire Gus.

It's enough to have to deal with you Shaun King wannabe social justice warriors in JB.   Now we will have to do it in MMQB if we hire White Boy Carl.

In OT to the #14 team in the country at their home field. Not really a knock on his resume. If anything, he improved his resume, because so many people said he couldn't play with UCF. He showed that the last matchup was more of the exception than the rule.
