Poor effort early in both periods too much to overcome

I posted this in another thread but felt it deserved its own thread.

Bad effort early in the second half dug our grave. Had we kept it within single digits we would have won. That is a great lesson for this team. If you want to wear opponents and get into their legs on the road you have to keep the game within reason. I can't tell you how many times our teams from 89-96 were able to do just that. We would routinely go on the road....be down 6-10 points midway through the second half to come out with a 4-6 point win. What those teams didn't do often was go on the road and get down 12-18 points in the second half. The game was always within "a runs" reach.

I hope CMA preaches that over and over. With the style we play we are routinely going to need to come from behind. The pressing and trapping will lead to wide open shots. Teams are usually able to hit those shots with fresh legs. Not so much towards the end of both halves.
