Quote from: Ham Porter on Today at 08:44:01 pm2021 vs. NJIT. We started Caleb Bolden and kept Wicklander for game 2.

But that was the year Kopps was insane. So we did have him in our back pocket if things got dicey (which they did). He pitched a couple of innings against NJIT.

Last year. Hollan was good, but Smith was much better, just didn't go as deep. Better numbers across the board.

Would like to see a solid DH with a little power. Catching and throwing optional.

Quote from: onebadrubi on Today at 08:35:58 pmAnyone remember the last time DVH held back our for sure ace and best pitcher?  I don't from memory

Really often. I don't know where this myth came from that DVH doesn't hold his ace beyond the fact that we have only recently become surefire hosts in the postseason. Pre-2016 catastrophe season our road usually didn't go through Fayetteville. When it did, we pitched off with TJ Forrest over our ace Drew Smyly in 2010.

We pitched Noland over Campbell, Bolden over Wicklander, etc.

The only time I can remember us not pitching off was 2018, and that was due to Oral Roberts having an absolute ace.

2017 you could argue that we didn't hold our ace in Trevor Stephen, but we had 2 in Knight and Stephen, so it was really flipping a coin (this is still the year that got away to me. Possibly even more than 2021).

Cal will put a great defensive & offensive team on the floor and Muss will get all steamed up about it.

Quote from: RazorbackRal on Today at 08:43:10 pmI know Dietz and Coli are injured correct?  Who are the others?

What kind of arm is Hachman?  I have seen his name, but know nothing of him.

Dietz and Fisher are hurt. Fisher just had surgery and should be back. Dietz hopefully will be healthy for next February. Hachman is back throwing but not throwing enough strikes to pitch currently. He's a lefty that throws upper 90s.

As of now, the rotation next year would ideally be Gaeckle, Dietz, Fisher barring any big name transfers. Bybee could potentially factor in pending improvement. Maybe Wood as well. TBD on Tucker Holland who was a highly rated freshman lefty who's been injured.

Also, don't be surprised if Jones transfers out.

Quote from: SwineFusion on Today at 08:40:03 pmYou may be correct, but not the Oklahoma burg you expected. Our super would be in Stillwater, not Norman, if the Cowgirls win at home.

And we wound up the 12 seed.

Stillwater will be tough enough...but its less that an hour from Tulsa and we will have a lot of fan support amongst that Cowboy orange if we get there.   I am not convinced any of the games in our regional are walkovers for us or that we will have all the elements to come out of our regional in the first place....we just arent playing very well right now just like the end of the last couple of seasons at their end.  I am hopeful, but the fan I always accuse of being Eeyore has my ear right now.

Pretty confident next weekend will be Smith, Wood, TBA

If you need Gaeckle to win games 1 or 2 to secure the west, do it. If not, start him game 3 and extend him a bit
