Some are saying Freese, Kozma, and Beltran are gone after the season. What do you think?

Jacob "2 Scoops" Johnson

Freese definitely. I would have said Beltran 3 weeks ago.. not now. No clue on Koz.
ched come back pls

I believe Freese is the most likely, unless they think Wong can't handle second on the ML level yet. If they make Beltran the $14.1 mil qualifying offer I think he could take it, and if he stays healthy and produces like he has it would be a good deal. Especially given how Tavares season went. Where is Kozma going to go? Nobody wants him and he isn't arbitration eligible until 2016.

I was told Beltran will be offered 14.1 million. You know we will offer that so that we will get a player in exchange when he goes elsewhere.... Just like we got Wacca when Albert left. Kozma's defense is good ,but I don't think we can keep a .215 hitter in the lineup. They say Freese only has about four years left in BB because of his ankles.

Wong is batting like .157. What do you do with Carpenter. Where does Craig play? Beltran wants to play 3 more years. Yankees want him and would probably offer a multi year deal... not sure we would.

Gotta go... have a good one.

Adams hasn't proven that he can hit LH pitching yet, Wong has looked over matched the whole time he's been up there. Why is middle infield always an issue for the Cardinals? They can afford Kozma and Descalso platooning (I don't like that option) if Craig and Beltran come back healthy or Tavares is legit and Beltran leaves. I can't see Beltran getting 3 years from the Cards.

Carpenter falls in wherever the hole is, third or second or right lol. I'm thinking Jay needs to go or become a back up if Tavares can handle center.  The combinations are endless. Lol. There is no telling what happens, and we aren't even talking pitchers yet.  ;D

I think Freese is gone for sure. As good as Beltran has been, I don't see him getting 3 years from the Cardinals. I see him going to the AL so he can eventually PH. I doubt Kozma goes anywhere, he's cheap and I can't really think of anybody that would want him. Plus as bad as he is at the plate, right now he is still better than Wong. If Freese leaves, Descalso and Carpenter will cover 2nd and 3rd unless we bring someone else in and Kozma will have to stay at SS.

I'd hate to see Beltran go, but it's not that big of a deal really. Especially if he can't stay healthy. They will move Craig to right and make Adams everyday 1B.

If Beltran goes, I'd really like to see us bring in a middle infielder with a solid bat. I've been begging for one for since Renteria.

What's the deal with Furcal? Wasn't his contract only through 2013? I wonder if he will be ready to play again next season and if so if the Cardinals will keep him. Either way, he will just be a short term fix. He doesn't have much left.

Furcal is a free agent after the World Series. Earlier there was talk of him playing winter ball in Mexico or the Caribbean with the idea of picking up some second base experience. He can't have much left...

I'm not sold on the idea of Freese leaving. I believe he will give a hometown discount the Cards won't refuse, Carp will stay at second and they will either trade Wong or use him as a UI. John Jay will probably be the 4th outfielder behind Oscar. I just don't see Mo breaking up this team yet.

Could happen. I'm still not sure Taveras can play CF though. I've heard he was struggling with it and would do much better in a corner.

I'd be fine with trading Wong too.

I have seen rumors that Beltran will be eyed heavily by the Yankees in the winter market. They will want him for RF/DH duties.

Freese and Cozma need to go. Neither can hit a lick. Freese has opportunity to drive in tons of runs in the World Series. I don't think he has had a hit pretty pitiful.

Didn't Freese win the WS MVP a couple years ago?

We caught lightning in a bottle with that little run.  I would like for the Cards to part ways with him and Kozma.  Kozma is supposed to be a "defensive specialist", yet he has more errors than anyone in this postseason.  He can't hit a lick.  So, why keep him around?

Ray Piggers

I hope to god Freese and Kozma are let go.

And Beltran stays.

Kozma for sure. We need more pop in our line-up.

OK Freese is gone and we have four new players. Think the trading is over or another deal made during winter meetings?
