Five days ago, Murrah star Malik Dear said he was planning to wait until his senior season began to announce his college decision.

Late this week he changed his mind after finding out he is eligible to graduate early. After nearly committing during a visit to MSU's campus on Friday, Dear announced his commitment to Mississippi State on Saturday night.

"I called Coach Mullen (around 9 p.m.) and asked him how he was doing," Dear said. "He just came out and asked me if I was ready to be a Bulldog and I said I was."

Dear, a four-star athlete according to 247Sports, is the Bulldogs' 16th commitment in the class of 2015 and the fifth prospect to commit to MSU since Thursday.

The 5-foot-9 prospect is the No. 5 the updated Clarion-Ledger Targeted 22 (sic) and holds other scholarship offers from Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Alabama, among others. During his junior season, Dear rushed for 1,893 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Per his Instagram, Wesson WR Farrod Green (@iamfarrodgreen) has committed to Mississippi State. He is the 17th commit in 2015 for MSU.

Cedar Hill (Texas) rising senior Justin McMillan was offered a verbal scholarship by Cameron. Before leaving campus, McMillan accepted the offer and joined the Tigers' 2015 class.

McMillan, a 6-foot-2 and 170-pound southpaw, worked alongside Cameron throughout the day on Tuesday. The three-star prospect is LSU's 12th commitment in the 2015 class. The news comes after a spring that saw the Tigers lose quarterbacks Stephen Rivers and Hayden Rettig as transfers.

It's #WRTS, the hashtag that's been popping up all over A&M social media on recruiting topics.

Supposedly, it stands for "We Run This State." The abbreviation can be found on A&M football's official Twitter feed and blasted out by Aggie coaches and recruits. It would appear to epitomize A&M's heightened attitude as a program, with the school now in its third year in the SEC and under Sumlin, a brazen brag to both SEC rivals and in-state programs. The coach has been actively using the "YESSIR!" of late that he tweets when A&M gets commitments from recruits. A&M's 2015 recruiting class is ranked No. 4 nationally at this point by Rivals.com. So, #WRTS?

"I've never tweeted that," Sumlin said of his personal account, @CoachSumlin. "No take on that."

Uh huh.

But he'll tell you this about A&M's recruiting momentum:

"We're just in a different time right now," he said. "There are a lot of young players who understand where we're headed, and because of that they've been able to come to our campus and see what's going on from a construction standpoint, and a lot of standpoints."

After the commitments from five-star WR Damarkus Lodge and three-star LB Richard Moore today, A&M's recruiting coordinator David Beaty has moved up 12 spots in the 247Sports recruiter rankings. The double-dip at Cedar Hill bumped BJ Anderson down a spot to No. 3 in the recruiter rankings but the Aggie assistants are still ranked as two of the top three recruiters in the country.

Alabama's flight records reveal controlled chaos behind securing the nation's No. 1 recruiting class http://ow.ly/yZWxM

AL.com, through the Freedom of Information Act, obtained the logs of the 24-year-old plane (N1UA) registered to the Crimson Tide Foundation — the fundraising arm of the Alabama athletics department — that carried Saban and his staff to their destinations. (The plane's movements cannot be accessed otherwise because the school had the tail number blocked from flight-tracking websites.)

The aircraft – an 1125 Westwind Astra built by Israel Aircraft Industries in 1990 – made 66 trips marked "football recruiting" on the logs. Saban was on board for 53. The plane touched down in 15 states from coast to coast. It logged nearly 53 hours of flight time leading up to National Signing Day on Feb. 5.

N1UA made trips as short as 10 minutes (between Gadsden and Talladega) and as long as four-plus hours (from Tuscaloosa to Long Beach, Calif.).

It is summer.

They include time-lag visualizations of the flight logs and a full database search at the link above.

Ole Miss is believed to have 15 scholarship seniors in 2014, and therefore may only be able to sign 15 players in the class of 2015 without attrition from its younger classes. The Rebels currently have 10 commitments, but the latest (Gulfport's Jordus Smith) is an expected sign-and-place to a junior college.

How did this happen? Keep in mind that Ole Miss does not release a list of players on scholarship, claiming Family Educational Rights and Privacy Actlaws. But through a combination of its National Signing Day classes each year and its own media guide (which often specifies players who joined the team as walk-ons), we can get an understanding.
