Got a friend who is in the know. He says Rob Smith is heavily being considered. He said the admin aren't shelling out money fir a top guy. Expect rumors to hear up and deal done soon.

This is part of the fun.  Everyone wants to figure out the mystery concerning the new HC.  There a few posters that are in the know and a few that do not have a clue.  A lot of guessing going on.

One thing is for certain and that is we will have a new head coach.

I'm not sure we have people "in the know" regarding who it will be.  They have likely heard who we are going after, but that doesn't mean said coach/AD will accept the offer.

Well, in April of 2012, I would have thought hiring John L. Smith was a joke, but he's who they hired. 
Rob Smith makes as much sense as John L. Smith.   Kiffin, not so much.
