Malzahn=5 more years of suck.

Honestly if he is chosen I probably stop watching and going to hog games as long as he's here.
Might even find a new team to support.

I feel the same way.....Very average coach!

Those that make the decision have thought it over and decided it would be better to pay a HC $4M and spend more on assistants than to pay Gus buyout, and pay him $6.5 M estimated.

I hope this is true.

No it hasn't. But maybe if you keep saying it, you can convince yourself it's true.

One of the reason I don't like Gus is his massive ego, that ego tells me I could see him putting more effort into the iron bowl than ever to walk away from Auburn.  Gus was forced to take on a new OC this year to help him with offense.  He was supposedly not letting that OC do his job till after the LSU game.  I wouldn't be shocked if his ego is to the point of living the thought of leaving auburn after beating bama.  That being said, this is still far fetched.

Now doesn't that sound familiar - that's what Nutt did to Gus.
Pretty crazy - full circle if true.

Then they might reconsider the Gus hire. He will not get full support of the fan base. No matter how much everyone whines about gus haters, it's a real thing. Like it or not there is going to be a real factiion of razorback fans rhat will not support gus. Winning will quiet them but they won't go away. Losing will amplify these voices.

This is exactly why the best possible outcome for the hogs is to offer Gus, get rejected and then we go somewhere else. Hopefully that will shut up the Gusbus long enough for them to actually support the Razorbacks and their new coach instead of waiting in the weeds to undermine them at ever step.

They don't want another Bear Bryant or Jimmy Johnson situation.  He will be offered.  He may say yes and he may say no.

AS much as you are on here you didn't read Mike Irwin's post that they were offering Gus? And then the follow up saying they wanted an answer not I'll get back to you.

If he were the next Bear Bryant or Jimmy Johnson he wouldnít  have been on the hot seat @ Auburn. He wouldnít be looking to bail  because of the pressure of not winning more big games with top 10 recruiting classes. Comparing him to Jimmy Johnson and Bear Bryant is the dumbest thing Iíve ever seen on the internet.

Either way this shakes out, ile give it to Gus. Always heard he was a sharp cookie . He is in a super win win right now . Win the iron bowl(which I think will happen now). And he has the leverage for a raise or a new gig( threat of a new gig). I am now convinced he stays at Awburn. I'm feeling a left field candidate now ...

EAD!  I didn't compare him directly to them as far as accomplishments.  It's possible we could regret that he is not our coach without going on to a career as well as them.

Patience pays dividends. Patience pays out in the long run. With patience you will hire the man you want, not the one that is last on the list or the one you have to hire because the other colleges hired the ones you wanted. If the coach you want wants you too, waiting is so sweet. I like patience because we need a really good head coach. He doesn't have to be user friendly as long as he can get a team of coaches together and win.

You think Saban became the great head coach he is today for being loved by all?
I bet not many people agreed with Bear Bryant's way of training his football players.
I bet you guys can think of several more head coaches not liked by many but was loved for winning many games and championships.
