Arkansas' defense was two different tale of the tapes in 2014.

The Razorbacks boasted a run defense that ranked third in the SEC, however the back end was a liability. Arkansas picked off just 11 passes this season, which ranks ninth in the league, and allowed 221.4 passing yards per game.

Arkansas is youthful in the secondary, and loses a few key pieces including cornerback Tevin Mitchel and safety Alan Turner.

First-year defensive coordinator Robb Smith shored up communication issues that led to broken down coverages a year ago. Arkansas significantly reduced the number of big plays it gave up in the passing game.

Head coach Bret Bielema needs to add pieces to Arkansas' current 2015 class, with only one defensive back committed.

Current secondary commits

    Three-star safety — Dre Greenlaw, 6-1, 220 (Fayetteville, Ark.)

Other positions of need

Front seven — The departures of Trey Flowers, Martrell Spaight and Braylon Mitchell are key losses for the Hogs up front. Arkansas has added highly-regarded prospects in four-star defensive tackle Hjalte Froholdt.

Wide receivers — The Hogs lose Demetrius Wilson and face the possibility of an early departure or two to the NFL. The Razorbacks have received verbal commitments from four-star wideout K.J. Hill and four-star tight end Will Gragg.

"I felt like I owed it to the state. They let me come in and transfer here to Arkansas, and I felt like it wouldn't be fair after one year to just up and leave."

"This is your Public Service Announcement  for 2010: Remember, No One's Buckass Snitshit Crazier Than Arkansas Fans."

Don't think Dre will be a S. Has a nice frame and good instincts that will translate well to OLB. Not enough speed for SEC play for safety. Goes to show how much the SDS people follow recruiting... Strictly just look at the sites. Do agree we need help there, undeniably! We'll close on some guys at safety. Whether it be a big name like Haughton or someone else like Johnson who is an athlete that projects at S. Still in on a lot of corners. Once January hits, recruiting updates will blow up.

Greenlaw is the perfect OLB/SS hybrid when going up against the spread teams. I like his potential at Arkansas.

And these guys are now considered a mainstream sports outlet.

My gosh how far has sports journalism fallen.  It's all about the TMZ now.

SDS's quality of writing is laughable.
sometimes it's a good and some times it's a schit

I mostly agree with what they said, but our pass defense seemed to come on strong late in the year.

I also think many teams may have thought they could throw on us easily and adjusted their offense accordingly.  That resulted in us giving up more yards, even though our pass defense was much better then last year.  I'm just guessing on this, but that's how it seemed to me.
