Prior to Sprint, NASCAR's Cup Series was sponsored by R.J. Reynolds' Winston cigarette brand from 1971 to 2003.
Maybe the Fungyuns Cup in 2016. I am thinking an alcohol company steps in. Thoughts?

I think th is one came as a surprise.   But their shares have dropped by half this year so it might not have been certain until late in the season.

This will be a tough and critical sponsorship for NASCAR to get.

I don't think Sprint is doing very well financially... I'm honestly surprised they haven't wanted out before now. AT&T? Verizon? Coca Cola?

I think Sprint tried to get out when they bought Nextel but NASCAR held right to the contract.  Sprint is in trouble, financially and subscribers.  Going to be interesting how this plays out.  I see this going to dish/direct tv/insurance for the next sponsorship.
