I don't want to get into a a religious argument but I want to point out consumption of alcohol has nothing to do with how much of a "Christian man" you are; same as a murderer or family man being compared, the murderer can be more of a Christian than the family man who goes to church every Sunday.

Now job performance it probably is a factor if you are getting drunk every night. I will say I have worked with some highly functional alcoholics who were damn good at their jobs.
