If you watch the replay when Henry tosses the ball backwards . There is a old piss player that is celebrating that they won and runs onto the field with his helmet off. I know it doesn't matter now but since the play wasn't dead should that have been a penalty. I think he made all the way between the hash marks before he realized it was still live and ran back off the field.

Obvious decline, doubt that's added on.

I think you are seeing things. I just re-watched it multiple times specifically looking at their sideline. I think what you saw was the guy who hit henry get up and run back into the play. It looked like he was coming from the sideline, but he was already on the field. Nobody ran onto the field from the OM sideline that wasn't already on the field. One player took 1 step onto the field, but a coach pulled him back before he even had a 2nd foot in the field of play.

Already been discussed..............there were players plural on old misses sideline that ran onto the field.
If I'm going to cheer players and coaches in victory, I damn sure ought to be man enough to stand with them in defeat.

What's better to watch is Skipper outrun kemDouchey down the field on that play. Tremendous heart and effort.

Yep, probably didn't throw a flag because when they realized it was a live ball they got off the field quick and it didn't interfere with anything.

Refs pretty much let the boys play.

It's only a decline because we made the first down.  Had we not, then the flag would have been critical for us.  Don't know if it actually happened, though.

You have to watch the in game replay . The view is from in front of hunter looking back towards the ol miss sideline no big deal just wondered if it should have been a flag for to many men on the field. If we hadn't got the first down it would have mattered.

Pretty sure that's considered a dead ball foul, so had we not made the first down, game over.

Not seeing things. Look at the upper left corner of this picture. That OM player ran off the sideline with no helmet on. That's a towel in his hand. He's almost to the hash marks.

He wasn't the only one either.

I stand corrected. I did not see that angle. Surprised he did not try to make the tackle.

It wouldn't matter; the penalty is assessed as a dead ball at the end of the play, and would therefore come after the change of possession;  if they flag Ole Miss, and we didn't make it, the game would still be over.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

If they enter the field of play during the play I don't see how that is a dead ball foul but you may be right.

Unless they interfere with the actual play itself, its a dead ball foul.

Thems the rules.

I guess it could have gotten even more interesting, if that's possible, had AC made his run down the OM sideline rather than ours.

It may well be a dead ball foul but the rule also states the game cannot end on a defensive penalty therefore there would be another play after a penalty.

Its not a defensive penalty, though; it is a dead ball penalty, and is assessed after the change of possession-- therefore the game would end, effectively, and the flag would be picked up.

Its best to think of what would happen on a taunting penalty after an interception;  it doesn't revert possession back to the former offensive team.  It is asssessed from after the change of possession.
