Counted 4 gators and saw my first Louisiana buck today. Also saw about 15 does. We also have a very large population of red cockaded woodpeckers in the south.

Working outdoors just driving around is pretty awesome. I really enjoy my time out and about. Haven't seen any snakes yet. We do have the endangered Louisiana Pine Snake here and that Snake has its own section of federal employees that trap, tag and track their every movement.

If gun control worked, Chicago would look like Mayberry, not Thunderdome. http://heyjackass.com/

It's been many years since I was there.  I think I left the year before JRTC moved there from Chaffee.  All I remember about the wildlife is having to stop the ranges several times because deer would wonder out into the field of fire.

My Dad's family is from West Lake/Lake Charles, so it was nice to be close to family, but I have no desire to revisit Polk.
