So we dropped to #5 in the D1 poll as Tennessee takes over #1 followed by Clemson, TAMU and Kentucky.  I can understand putting Kentucky over us since they just took a weekend series from us, but TAMU has a MUCH worse weekend loss than us and we both have the same weekend record, but their two series losses are significantly worse than ours.  I would argue they should have dropped to #5 over us.  Kentucky has back to back series losses before this weekend.  I still think we should have been a top 3 team as our two series losses are against teams competing to host on the road.

Here we go again. Let's all freak out because we lost to the number 8 team in the country on the road which is first in the SEC in hitting btw. 7 straight seasons of 40 wins for Arkansas, but we need coaching changes? There are people on twitter tagging Dave Van Horn and Nate Thompson saying "it's time to go". Are you kidding me? We are going to be a top 8 National seed hosting with a chance to go to Omaha. Isn't that all you can ask for?

Though down a few rungs on the pecking order still a P4 conference which is technically equivalent on paper. The playoff structure as currently stands gives the pecking order a little less significance too. SMU probably has a better shot at seeing the playoffs than Arkansas does. I definitely wouldn't put good money on seeing Arkansas there first.

All that being said, it's a lateral move team wise (as painful as that is to admit), with probably more upside at SMU in terms of ceiling.
