For many years, Hogville members who love Razorback Baseball have come together to produce these game threads with play-by-play narrative for those that depend on it as their only source and for those that just simply enjoy it. These threads have been a foundation for great Hogville discussions and that tradition continues today as this is NOT a read only thread (all Hogville posting rules apply).

Veteran play-by-play man, PoconoHog plans to provide play-by-play narrative for this game. Razorbacks #1 and I look forward to assisting as needed this weekend and hope that the many others will continue to bring quality input to the game threads. GHG! :razorback:

Our 146 rip and 254 SOS are not being helped by Central Michigan and Mississippi Valley State. Neither have won a game. Since losing to us Central Michigan has lost 2 games to Grand Canyon and another to St. Mary's. They play Tennessee today. No use even discussing MVS. We just have to keep winning over these better teams.

McKinney has started one game for us this year. He was not credited with a decision. He went 4 innings, gave up 3 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits. He struck out 1 and walked 2. He hit a batter and committed the first Arkansas error of the year on a bad throw to 1st. His era stands at 4.50.

Hey now, our RPI isn't dead yet! If we are still 146th in April, then yes, rest in peace.

Following the RPI right now is about as big of a waste of time as there is. Every year people are concerned with our early RPI, and every year it works itself out. Our schedule is backloaded after this weekend. Gonzaga, MSU, LT, Memphis, and Ok St will all be much better RPI teams. Lots of top 25 teams have a bad RPI because there is not enough data for it to be accurate. Other than the SWAC teams, this schedule will end up being pretty solid. CMU will get it figured out for conference play.

I fully agree. I was merely pointing out the fact of where we stand now. I took the rip and SOS from the original post above. Then I pointed out that our first two opponents have yet to win. When we get to the tougher part of our schedule our rip should shoot up. As Kevin said, it also helps to win.

Announcer yesterday said we will play 31 total games against the preseason top 25.

Ty Damron, a junior, will be the Texas Tech starting pitcher today. He has started one game this year. He is 1-0 while going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run(unearned) on 1 hit so his era is presently 0.00. He struck out 4, walked 3 and threw a wild pitch.

McKinney needs to give us at least 5 solid innings.

Hopefully the bats stay alive

Looking forward to a great game and another Hog win.

Just win baby. The rest will work itself out. RPI included. I never worry about in baseball especially. We play in the toughest league possible against how many ranked teams? A lot! We could play pretty much any directional school the rest of the year in midweek games and just win conference games and probably finish the year as a super regional host (if we won most all of the series). I figure we'll be close to the top10 if we win today. Thats good enough for me this early in the year. Wps! In another note, did anyone happen to post a link to Bernals monster blast off the foul pole ?
Basketball is back, baseball always, football was a dumpster fire once again..... but as the phoenix rose from the ashes, BMF Petrino has risen again!!! Lots to look forward to.

As the rain falls, I realize, that some where out there, some one, is wearing a mask while they shower............

Was able to watch some of the game online yesterday but for some reason the MLB Network is showing something else today when I went to view it live.
My girl told me to whisper something sexy in her ear...so I leaned in and said....Dominic Fletcher.

Not getting it on mlb.com today.

Fortunately it is showing on MLB network for me. Maybe it will show up on-line soon.

I'm not sure if McKinney has changed something in his delivery or is just pressing to start the year or what. Not even close to the same pitcher he was last year at the moment.

Goes along with my comment about him not appearing comfortable. I would like to see one of those side by side comparisons of last year's delivery compared to this year's.
