Just moved up here, wondering if there are any hog fans in the area. North of the river here.

watch parties?

RazrRila99

I am looking for Razorback Clubs/get togethers in the KC area.  Anyone know of any, especially those north of the river?  Any KC razorback fans on here?

hogfan_no1

We'll be meeting at Coach's Bar & Grill at 103rd & Wornall Road for the game tonight.  Hope to see you there!
If you're not the lead dog, the view never changes.

Thread resurrect! Just moved to Lenexa from NWA. Anybody getting together to watch the bowl game?? It would be nice to get out and meet some people and watch the hogs destroy OSU.

RazrRila99

Welcome to KC metro, sorry to hear you are in JoCo.  Make sure to venture out to the better areas :p.  Im biased, I live in the northland (KCI/Liberty area).

Im open to meeting up somewhere, just beware there are as man tOSU fans in KC as there are Razorback.

waphill

I'll make the trek to anywhere in the metro area. It would be better than watching it by myself! We've just been here for 3 weeks, haven't really had much time to scout out some good sports bars. Only place I've been to is Barley's on Midland Ave.

Name the place, and I'll be there.

codywan

I live in Overland Park and would be up for meeting someplace to watch the game as well.

What's the word guys? Anyone want to pick place to meet? I haven't really had the chance to get out and explore the area, hence, I would be picking out of the phone book!

Where is Joetown? I'm not quite in on the local lingo yet!

Hey everybody!  I put up a Craigslist post on this very topic and got a response.  The official Alumni association party in KC is having a watch party for the Sugar Bowl at the 810 Zone on the Country Club plaza.  All Hog fans are welcome!  Hope to see y'all there!  I live in Olathe and am eager to meet some area Hog fans.

We're ready in O.P! Looking to get together with some hog fans for the game saturday night. Any watch parties or pubs showing the game that you know of? I would rent the game and host, but our place is pretty small.

RazrRila99

WAPHILL - Ive been looking all week to try to find a place.  I havent had any luck, Im calling Coaches down at 103rd and Wornall this afternoon to see if the Alumni Association still goes there (Alumni association hasnt even replied to the email I sent).  Mizzou plays at the same time, so we will have to team up in order to get the Hawgs playing.  Ill post back here this afternoon after I call coaches.

Im north of the river, I have a decent sized living room for up to about 10-12 people.

hawgnosticator

Keep everyone posted if you land a spot for the ULM game as well.

RazrRila99

Thing is - if we can get a contingent on a regular basis to start going to a place they will put it on.  The place will follow the money, normally only three or four at a table will be able to get a TV switched (Ive had it done just for me ONCE).

I will definitely keep the group posted.  My first choice is going to be 810 Zone at Harrahs; 2) Amerisports Pub Ameristar Casino (they have awesome wing and beer combo); 3) Coaches on 103rd and Wornall.  The first two because they are fairly middle ground for the south KC people and north KC people (which is me).  Of course, worse comes to worse, Ill probably do something at my pad.

waphill

I don't think the alumni association is very active here. Which sucks, because I see Hog plates all the time.

We're game for any of those places. It would be ideal if we could get a regular group going somewhere every game. It would be nice to meet some other hogs fans up here!

RazrRila99

Honestly, thats my goal to get a group of Razorback fans together.  It doesnt matter the sport for me, if I see it on Im going to stop and watch it.

I did call Coaches on Wornall, was told the Alumni group does come in from time to time, but isnt regular.  She is going to call me this afternoon.  I wont know about the other two until tomorrow.  What is throwing a HUGE wrench into this is the Mizzou game, most places have already purchased that one.

RazrRila99

SPREAD THE WORD:
Coaches 103rd & Wornall, we will have a TV with the Razorbacks game.  Unfortunately no sound, due to the Mizzou emphasis.  However, I was told, if we can get a big enough group we can be "partitioned off" and have sound.

I plan to be at the venue about 500p or 515p.

Spread the word.  Lets CALL THOSE HOGS!!!

RazrRila99

Looks like the Official Gathering place is Johnnys Tavern in the Power and Light District on Grand Street across from the Sprint Center.

RazrRila99

I finally found the KC Alumni group - they have watch parties at the Johnny's Tavern at Power and Light, downtown KC across from Sprint Center.  Unfortunately, I dont have the direct address.

Zeke_in_KC

I always have the game on at Outlaw Cigar Company in the Northland...

Life took me to Central Florida, but I'll always be a Razorback.

Kansas City Razorback fans:

I met Chris Leese this past weekend while at Johnny's Tavern.  He is trying to get the Kansas City Razorbacks more involved.  If we can start with a good consistent showing at Johnny's (or somewhere else consistently) we will be able to potentially root out the Mizzou/KU/Kstate people and get sound for our games.  Its going to take a concerted effort.

If you have facebook join the Greater Kansas City Arkansas Alumni Group:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/103593493031206/ to keep up with events for the UofA.

Keith Grayson

Why can't y'all get something organized with such a large group?  I have a buddy looking for a spot in KC to watch the Samford game.  The Facebook Group has over 500 people but y'all need a Page instead.  That will allow you to create events and invite people.  The groups are too limited.

RazrRila99

Keith,
They are trying to get the KC Chapter more active.  We have viewing parties at Johnny's in P&L.  This week 2p for a 230p kickoff.  I am trying to get a party set up for next against aTm as well.  Plus, theres #KCBEERFEST in P&L same day from 3-6 (right before kickoff).

Keith Grayson

Right on.  You have to stay with it.  The group will grow if you handle everything yourself.  The Alumni Association kicked me out and our group tripled in size once I started handling everything myself.  Good luck.  I sent you my info on Facebook.  Call me if you need help.

Does anybody get together for basketball games?

motownhog

My family and I will be moving to the Independence/Blue Springs area in July. Will their be an announcement of gatherings before the season starts?

RazrRila99

There is a facebook group that gets together at Johnny's Tavern downtown and another place in JoCo - https://www.facebook.com/groups/103593493031206/

Chris Leese is the guy to talk to.  He/they are trying to get more UofA involvement up here.  We are around, but kind of disjointed right now.

Lot of KC people on here. welcome

I've been here for only a few months but we've had several folks at John's Big Deck for the games that we didn't drive down to Fay for.

The Greater KC alumni chapter meets at Johnny's Tavern in Power and Light district.  I think they were trying to get something going in JoCo too (for those who didnt want to leave suburbia).

OutlawHawg

In this mofo!

You guys still meet at Johnny's to watch the games? I just moved here from the Republic of Texas and am ready to call them Hawgs here amongst the Jayhawk and Mizzou trash.
