Position, not specific names.

Aside from the normal depth spots, I would love to see

1 Stud DE
1 top end speed RB
1 Outside WR's
1 top flight safety

PaintballHog

top 4*/5* rb

mean, tough, physical corners/safeties. I'm not a seahawks fan, but I love the attitude of the LoB. A college version of them would be so sick

at least 3 4* Oline

true fullback

bigdaddyhawg

If we're wishing, why not add stud LB's and stud DL, too?

I think it can be said that Bielema will go after highly recruited running backs (at least 2), O-Linemen (3-5), D-Linemen (at least 3), linebackers (2-3), safeties (1-2), and receivers (at least 2, already have 1 in Jordan Jones!).
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is.

Tim Harris

I know that this won't be the flashy post that many want but I would like to see us land every kid in state that we offer.  I'm tired of always missing out on 1-2 players.

Really an uneventful recruiting day really. pretty much knew all that signed would sign. I'd rate as BB's best class.  Not overwhelming considering how the season sorta turned around last fall. I really thought more momentum would carry over into recruiting than what did.

we may need some help from parents/coaches to make that happen...train a child up in the way that he should go and when he is older, he will not depart from it....it takes a village.  Hog staff, family, hs coaches, etc.....(this post is slightly sarcastic but mostly true)

We have the WR already.  I hope we'll get Agim.  I'm not too worried about recruiting RB... I think that will work out for us.  The top flight safety is the part I'm least optimistic about, just because we can never seem to close on the those guys.  I hope 2016 is the year that we sign some highly recruited 4* or better safeties.

have to win first.

Maybe even more than that.

Kids that are seniors playing this fall will have seen Alabama and Auburn on top almost their entire lives that they've been playing and watching football.

During that same time Arkansas had one good year, and one decent year, but a bunch of bad years.

It'll take being in that high profile, always mentioned on ESPN group for a couple of years to begin to dominate those high profile Arkansas kids.

IMO it's a testament to CBB/staff that we did so well this year and ALMOST made a clean haul of a fantastic in state crop this year.
Let us then turn this government back into the channel in which the framers of the Constitution originally placed it.  Abraham Lincoln, 1858

Based on listening to interviews yesterday plus looking at the what we currently have I would say the class will break down something like this.

QB(1) - Take one in every class
RB(2-3) - With Williams leaving and the possibility that Collins could RB recruiting will be huge
OL(5-6) - Based on what Pittman said yesterday we still don't have the numbers he wants.
TE(1-2) - I don't see Bielema ever going a class without a TE but after the group we had this year he can be very selective
WR(2-3) - My guess is our normal class will always have a couple
DT(2) - Franks mentioned yesterday that being in the SEC you have to always continue building depth on the line
DE(2) - Se DT
LB(3) - We seem to be making progress at this position but in the past have struggled.  Need to continue building depth
CB(2) - Lots of young talent here.  Need to continue to build on that
S(3) - Numbers are low at this position

GalaHawg

1 QB: Perhaps a mobile one if not a true dual threat... Jalen Hurts have early interest (http://247sports.com/Player/Jalen-Hurts-37059)

2-3 RBs: At least two very high level true RBs... I'm talking about Devin White (http://247sports.com/Player/Devin-White-33099) or Devwah Whaley (http://247sports.com/Player/Devwah-Whaley-33409) or Elijah Holyfield (http://247sports.com/Player/Elijah-Holyfield-33919) types... And perhaps Damarea Crockett (http://247sports.com/Player/Damarea-Crockett-74145) as the second or third guy.

2 WRs: We already have numbers at WR. I think they will go for quality over quantity in 2016. Already have Jordan Jones  (http://247sports.com/Player/Jordan-Jones-38140) committed. The second guy may be Isiah graham (http://247sports.com/Player/Isaiah-Graham-37742)

1 TE: They oversigned TEs in 2015, so I expect only one in 2016. Maybe Pine Bluff's John Tate (http://247sports.com/Player/John-Tate-26098)

7 OL: Pittman said we will need numbers - ideally 15-16 scholarship guys. With the 2015 recruits, we will have 13 this year.  We have 4 guys graduating and Kirkland is a possible early NFL draftee. So, we will need about 7 to get to 15 scholarship bodies. Fingers crossed for Parker Boudreaux (http://247sports.com/Player/Parker-Boudreaux-42650). Hopefully, some in-state talent will show out in camps.

2 DTs - We're well stacked at this position. Hodge graduating. Boyd and Ward will also be graduating with one more year of eligibility - so, they may transfer somewhere they can play. Taiwan Johnson may go pro but I doubt it. There are excellent options with in-state Austin Capps (http://247sports.com/Player/Austin-Capps-32515) and Michael Perry (http://247sports.com/Player/Michael-Perry-59848) from Memphis.

2 DEs: It will be interesting to see who leaves and who stays. Mitch Loewen is the only one for sure. Wise, Winston, B-Lew, and Beanum will all be eligible to go pro. I think we lose two at most but even if we lost 3, we would just need 2 new recruits and still be good in terms of DE numbers. I believe one will be reserved for McTelvin Agim (http://247sports.com/Player/McTelvin-Agim-34545).

2-3 LBs: Hopefully, neither Ellis nor Josh Williams will consider the pros and we'll bring back all LBs after next year. So, we'll just get 2-3 more guys for depth. I hope Deontre Hardwick (http://247sports.com/Player/Deontre-Hardwick-35371) get an offer soon and commits. I think Jordan Carmouche (http://247sports.com/Player/Jordan-Carmouche-63317) has very high interest as well.

2 CBs: I think we will bring them all back. Just need two for depth. We already have an offer out to Kristian Fulton (http://247sports.com/Player/Kristian-Fulton-32405) who is from the same school as Tolliver and Eugene (Rummel HS, Metarie, LA).

2-3 Ss: Gaines and Sleepy will be done. We will need more depth behind Coley and Lidell. Perhaps even a top level JUCO guy. Manvel HS in TX has been good to us lately so maybe Deontey Anderson (http://247sports.com/Player/Deontay-Anderson-23450). Also, I think Calvin Bundage (http://247sports.com/Player/Calvin-Bundage-77213) from Edmund, OK has early interest.

Since this is fantasy talk, I would like to see:
x4 DT (at least one 4-5* with mass, 285lbs or greater like a smaller and faster Mount Cody)
x2 burner WR (both with 4.4-4.45 speed, 6'3" or taller)
x2 stud MLBs (maybe 4.6-4.75 speed, 230-240 lbs, 6'1")
x2 RBs (one quick like Fred Talley or Felix, one bruiser downfield runner like Brandon Holmes or DMac)
x6 OL (one center, three guards, two tackles)
x1 scholarship FG kicker!
x2 natural FBs
x1 possession receiver, preferably a large guy (6'5", 245, 4.6-4.8 speed)
x3 tall and fast DBs
x1 SS
x1 pure athlete

Need more tackles than guards. We don't need to use 2 scholarships on fullbacks, we have a handful on the roster already. We already have a scholarship kicker, not gonna take another one unless Hedlund literally craps his pants.

Good wish list, I don't believe you can get more than 5 quality OL in 1 class, you can sign maybe 7 but those last 2 won't be what we are accustomed to IMO

I had heard our kicker is a punter, not a FG kicker? Losing a game by one and having a missed FG in that game stings... Bama.
And I am talking guards because it appears that CBB wants to graduate players up from Guards to Tackles, just by what I've heard him say recently with a few of our current players (Ex. Kirkland.) As for the fullback bit, I like having a fresh hole puncher. Since we run a lot, I feel it is a legitimate spot. Hillis, Lancaster, Small, etc.

It's interesting how we've had a pretty decent crop of instate talent the last year or two and 2016 also looks really good. I wonder why the uptick recently? I know Agim, Tate, Crockett, Jones, Hardwick, and Capps are all looking like pretty good players. Anyone else that I might be missing and anyone have any idea how we stand with them?

This begins and ends with the 5 SEC caliber players in state that have been identified by the sites so far

Agim, Capps, Jones, Hardwick, Tate

Crockett is likely to get an offer and Mahone in Bentonville as well.

The Soehner kid in PG will blow up over the summer.

Floyd in Hot Springs is interesting.  Right now I'd expect about 8 in state kids from the '16 class.

Florida is stupid loaded next year and IMG Academy is Staaaacked.  We'll do some real damage in Florida w/ Shannon off the staff and letting Hargreaves and Smith run wild. Would like to see Lunney down in Florida a bit if not Enos.  We could add some firepower on the O side from that area.

No, the kicker on scholarship is Hedlund, who redshirted his freshman year. He set the all time record for most field goals in a career while in HS. We gave a scholarship to a punter this year. But Bielema has said he isn't going to hand either of the the kicking or punting responsibilities unless they win the job.

There are a couple of good prospects in Little Rock that could bring some offensive help. I'd like to see more players out of LR and NLR go to the Hill.

Wish list: Walton releasing the money and hiring bag man to buy players like other schools in the SEC. Just think what is going on in Tennessee going from a nothing class to number three in national recruiting, Ole Piss is another example and let us not think that Auburn is not throwing the cash around. It's a common practice in our league. We better keep a close eye on LSU with Ed Orgeron now coaching their, money will prevail. We have got to play by the same rule that everyone of the elite status does.

Need a couple/few true speed guys on both sides of the line.

I know he's not ranked yet but D'Vaughn Pennamon is on my list. The staff only has about 7 RB offers out right now so they clearly like him too. His one cut and get downhill running style and speed seem like a deadly combination. He was on RD's show recently and seemed like he liked the Hogs.

Richard sure seems to like him, so I'm gonna say yes and I normally don't do that.  Probably won't happen, because there are only about 30 5-star players each year, but he may have a shot.

Having said that, I haven't watched him play and am only going by what others have said.

BoynamedWooPigSooie

depends on if he goes to camps and is open to all offers.  He's not going to get seen in the fall by enough of the right people for the recruiting sites to go all in on him and rank him high unless they get info from a bunch of college coaches that they're hot after him.

I think Baylor is the school we need to watch out for there.  We've worked the hardest for him so far according to previous interviews with him.  I think we can land him.

Yup i think baylor is going to be our biggest opponent in trying to get him. He has many pics up of him in a baylor jersey or jacket
