Man Im excited about the season geting underway...  I just want to throw my vote in now for NL Rookie of the Year - #5 Carlos Gonzales Colorado Rockies ....however , even though nary a pitch has been thrown, seems  Jason Heyward from the braves   already has it sown up in the media.

No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

I'd say I agree with just about everything Erie posted. But I dont think Rockies win the west. It's still the Dodgers, maybe even the Giants before the Rocks.

I'll say Cards over the DRays in the Series.

I really think a lot of people are sleeping on the Rockies.  They would have had another playoff season last year, if Tulo hadn't started horribly.   Between his improvement, and Gonzales about to become known as the equal of the other Great Gonzales in the NL West,  the Rockies will be extremely good.   If Jimmenez and the offense can see them through the first part of the year, while Francis recovers, it's a potential 95 win team.

maybe so, I live in Denver and watch them a lot. I'm not sold on their pitching or their young hitters. If all their young talent has a good year together, 100 wins is possible. Gonzalez,Fowler,Seth Smith & Ian Stewart are all really great players & hitters but I think they have a little work to do before they take over that division.

He wasn't eligible for rookie of the year last year because he was a rookie in 2008 for Oakland.

Yanks win world series #28.

Gonna say they meet the Cubs there.  Would be highest rated ever.  Of course this will just add to the already huge pile of crap the Cubbies fans live with.
Let's make some waves.
