How often do you use it ???   We use it 4-8 times a year at our house.  Sadly we find all sorts of items at a better price vs many box stores in the area.

I still buy my Case and Buck knifes locally at my Hardware store cause they are very competitive and I don't have to wait on the USPOST.

Prime Account helps cut a lot of costs.  We use it all the time.  Especially the subscribe and save.  I also get to enjoy the perks of Amazon Prime Now and get something within 2 hours.

HawgWild

We use it quite frequently. I comparison price shop a lot of items and if Amazon has it for a lower price, I put it on my Wish List and order later.

This.  Because of Prime we use it several times a month.

Also worth noting that up to 4 additional "family" members can be added to your subscription and can use the prime shipping (to any address). Only the original account holder can access the video and music though. Also that anyone with a .edu email address can get prime for $50 a year.

Getting a 30lb bag of dog food delivered to your front door whenever you need it at the same price Walmart sells it for is worth EVERY PENNY of the $99/year price for Prime.

It's life changing.

We got our Prime membership last August for $69 during a promotion. Right now I'm thinking that I won't renew. Regular delivery wasn't that much slower and we've not been that impressed with the PRIME streaming.

We use Amazon quite regularly especially for hard to find items and generally can get a better price.

I used to hate it when we'd go to Sam's, buy something in bulk and find it cheaper for a lesser amount elsewhere.

FWIW - Consumers who cough up the $99 a year for Amazon Prime memberships spend almost twice much as other shoppers at the online retailer.

The 54 million Americans who pay for Prime membership spend an average of $1,100 a year on Amazon purchases, compared with an average annual total of $600 by nonmembers, according to new data from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners.

We are looking at Prime just for our Christmas shopping which we did 80% on Amazon and the rest on Macy's online.

4 times a week or so.

Prime really makes a huge difference--  things that would take an hour of you time, to go to Sam's to buy in bulk, or to incorporate into a very long shopping trip elsewhere-- you can do at or below the same price, without having to leave home.

Time saved is money saved.     For those people fortunate enough to live very close to Amazon distribution, same day delivery is an amazing thing.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

My wife found several things our Daughter wanted and it was all on Clearance.  We got 350 with of Bedding and sheets for College for a 150 bucks plus free shipping.

Thanks folks I am going to tell the wife about this.  Prime just might be the ticket for a very happy Christmas.

DB - If the Prime streaming lineup doesn't appeal to you then I'd suggest not paying the extra money to join Prime. We took advantage of a $69 membership offer last fall to try it out. During the peak of the holiday period they had trouble meeting the 2 day delivery promise. Even outside of that we haven't noticed deliveries being that much faster than before. As for streaming, we much prefer Netflix to Amazon's. I do like the fact that you can have them send you a reminder in advance of your membership period expiring so you can opt out. (Too many services these days set you up for an automatic renewal and make it hard to leave.)

On another note: Have you gotten an update on Wayne's squirrel dog lately?  ;D

Definitely a good point. For the last few years even in rural Arkansas 3-5 day shipping has been 3rd day more and more frequently.
Typically when we order something that we don't "need right away" we opt out of 2nd day and take the $1, $3 or even occasionally $5 prime pantry credit. The $1 is the most common and it's usually for ebooks, movies or tv shows.

We do use the 3.99 one day shipping from time to time though. Don't ask.

We've never paid shipping costs for any Amazon order unless the product was from an outside dealer and free shipping was not available. We always bundled our orders to qualify for free shipping first at $25 and now $35. Prime may get the order here a day or two earlier but that's not worth the membership to me.

Amazon likes playing that game and we order less than 50 bucks and they said less than $35 bucks was eligible.

I've been a Prime member for years and LOVE it.  They just keep adding benefits.  The free, quick shipping, prime video, unlimited photo storage, 20% off new video games, etc.  My wife says I have an Amazon addiction.  We did the majority of our Christmas shopping via Amazon.

I use Amazon many times because I can wait 2 days for something I don't want to drive to Walmart for.  I also find Amazon easy to use.  Wal-mart is becoming more of a hassle.  Especially Superenters.  Home Depot, Napa, Lowe's, are all places I hate wasting time in.  Amazon has made it so easy to get what you want without leaving home.  I love some of the shows on Amazon also. Bad dogs, Red Oaks, Justified....
What Amazon has done and seems to continue to do is find ways to get into your home and make shopping easier.  I use Alexa to re-order items that I buy over and over.  Kindle for books.  I am always impressed with their innovations.  Yes, the fire phone was a flop, but it shows they are not afraid to try.  If they can find a way to deliver groceries to everyone I'll stop shopping at Wal-Mart all together.  That's something I thought I'd never say 20 years ago.

Daughter got some stuff she wants for her 18th birthday this month and I am going to make a nice size order.

the beauty of Prime:

i'm a single dude. I live at home with dogs. This morning I noticed I was down to 4 or 5 rolls of TP. I just ordered a 24 pack, a bag of dog food, some Oxy Clean, and a pair of shoes. They will all be here by this weekend, which means I can go straight to the golf course Saturday and not worry about going to Walmart beforehand.

I find Amazon Prime to be too convenient, if that makes sense. I'm ordering stuff spur of the moment rather than waiting until have enough items to qualify for free shipping. I've got UPS trucks delivering what could have easily been shipped in an envelope by the postal service. One week we had 4 deliveries. That's too much wear and tear on my hillside driveway.

Not a big fan of their PRIME video service either; much prefer Netflix.

I have a credit card that I pay off every month. I use it for all my Amazon purchases (and other purchases too). Then I use the points accumulated on that credit card to pay for my Prime membership every year.  It's a little tricky because Amazon won't let you directly pay for membership using points, but they will let you "gift" a membership using points. So I "gift" it to myself every year.
