B.S.  You can be critical and respectable all at the same time.  Nobody expects all fans to be sunshine pumpers, but then again...fans who have an optimistic view of this team and the coaches may not necessarily pumping sunshine.  They may have realistic points that we will see in games this fall.

It all boils down to either you see the glass half full...or you see it half empty.  Its all in personal perception.  Only this coaching staff and these players can change your mind for the good or for the bad.  That's why they play the games.

True! I was very little during those late Eddie/very early Nolan days but those late Eddie teams were good in the regular season but just didn't do much in March. I think we just reached a sweet 16.

ASU transfer QB Jaden Rashada commits to Georgia Bulldogs

by: Wade Peery

QuoteGeorgia Bulldogs continue to stack top-tier talent from across the country. They landed one of the top quarterback prospects from the transfer portal, former Arizona State QB Jaden Rashada, per On3's Pete Nakos.

It's worth noting that the Sun Devils added former Michigan State quarterback Sam Leavitt this winter.

Rashada joins a loaded quarterback room in Athens, with the Bulldogs featuring the likes of Beck.

Their backup QB is also a record-setter out of Rabun County ("Deliverance"), redshirt sophomore Gunner Stockton.

Jaden Rashada's high school recruitment was high-profile. A former Miami decommit, he signed with Florida but was ultimately released from his National Letter of Intent and later signed with Arizona State. His decision to leave the Gators was fueled by an NIL contract terminated in early December 2022.

Quote from: Snouty on April 23, 2024, 01:15:48 pmI'm not convinced Pittman will give Petrino carte blanche to operate the offense any way Petrino decides.  I'm not convinced Petrino still has the magic touch he had at Arkansas in 2010 and 2011. He hasn't replicated that kind of results any time lately.  Talen Green could be the next Matt Jones, or he could wash out like TJ Finley.

I'm gonna need some examples of BP losing his "magic touch".  If you are siting his production last year at AM, i suppose you might be able to make this argument, but unlike Pittman, jimbo did meddle with Petrino's offense.  Petrnio had a parameter to work within and he was forced to use Fisher's terminolgy for plays. It's a big deal. BP had to rework the playbook, using defintions that he's not familiar with. Time that was wasted on this could have been utilized for teaching and instructing players on Petrino's offense.  It would be interesting to know how much of the playbook that Bobby was able to implement at AM last year.  And yet in the end,  AM's offense was more productive last season.

Quote from: Valleyhog10 on Yesterday at 11:22:14 pmThe '95 UCLA team avoided a huge upset in the first round when back up guard Tyus Edney drove the length of the court with 5 seconds left and threw in a layup at the buzzer for a one point win against Mizzou. The Hogs almost lost their 3 first games that year, winning on a missed free throw against a bottom seed and against a mediocre Syracuse team which had a player travel on a last second out of bounds play under his basket when he had to remain stationery. It was the correct call but a bizarre one. If he had simply passed the ball in the Hogs lose by 1.
I think the '95 team just didn't have the hunger of '94 IMO plus they didn't have the '94 6th man of the year Roger Crawford who was amazing in '94 and was hurt in the tournament. He was senior in '94 and because he got hurt early in the NCAAT, never received the recognition he deserved.
Plus Swen Nater the UCLA 7 foot center dominated Corlis, the only time that ever happened in his career. Nater was the only player to ever lead the ABA and NBA in rebounding.

I also remember in the Syracuse game they called a timeout and didn't have one. That technical foul also saved the Hogs in that game.

Why is Sheppard looked at differently than others players who enter the draft after 1 year??
Doesn't mean he didn't play for the name on the front of the jersey - just means the name on the back is more important as it should be.

Auburn OL Garner Langlo enters NCAA transfer portal

by: Nick Kosko

QuoteAuburn offensive lineman Garner Langlo entered the transfer portal, according to On3's Pete Nakos.

Entering his third season, Auburn Live reported Langlo was no longer with the team last August. Since he did not play last year, his college football future was unknown.

Now, it looks like he'll enter the portal and look to land elsewhere.
