I agree with you. But, without speculation, panic, hope, how fun would this board be?

There isn't anything wrong at all with discussing possibilities. I'm all for that and I think everyone else is the same. It's when opinions become statement of fact and unfortunately, there are those of us who, if they read it here, it becomes fact to them and then they go nutsy if it doesn't manifest itself.

Like Wilson said above, Bielema will make a good hire, whomever it winds up being, whether Buh or someone else and because Bielema likes the hire, I'll like it too. I trust his judgement. He is a good coach and he knows who he needs and how well they will fit with the overall philosophy and chemistry of the team and staff.

Now personally, I think we can do better than Buh, but if Bielema thinks he is the man, I'm all in.

And there you have it. It was stated on Hogville, therefore, it must be true.

He is  not the favorite just the only candidate that the public is aware of...our Coordinators/ Head Coach will interview others who have just as much interest.

It's the exact same formula used last year this time as we watched other names leak.

If you have some other Names feel free to PM me

Not slamming you at all, I'm just saying, there is a lot of speculation that is ran with around here because of personal opinions, that quite remarkably, seems to turn into Hogville fact, in the absence of actual fact or logic.

It is more than just speculation.  Andy Buh's name surfaced before Shannon's did.  Buh then ends up taking the DC job in Cal, and it was after that Shannon's name surfaced.  That does not mean 100% that Buh was Bielema's first choice or that he was even offered, but it sort of looks that way.

A name surfacing is not the same as real interest though.  Have to look at the sources for those articles.  I guess my only point is that nothing clearly points to him ever being a real option here or having any mutual interest back then.  A lot of dots that shouldn't be be have been connected in the past.

There is always a chance that Buh ends up back at Wisconsin also.  They are putting together a new staff.  Lots of variables in play this time of year.

No names Brett isn't operating the coaching search like LSU (openly referencing coaches like a quoted Coach Miles to keep verbals in a holding pattern) by the way Ed O informed a Louisiana paper he's not interested.

Coach B likes to do things out of the public eye but ultimately names are leaked (some candidates are probably gainfully employed and can utilize plausible deni-ability)

And Stanford.  He was LB coach there before being promoted to co-DC by Jim Harbaugh.

It wouldn't surprise me if Harbaugh hires Buh as DC at Michigan.

The hiring of RS was announced on 12/28 - 12 days after these articles.

He was a hitter when he was at arkansas.  If he coaches like he played he will be a good one.

You asking or hoping?
Asking. Saw where he worked under and was promoted by Harbaugh at Stanford. I'm hoping for Larry Culpepper or Bua.

Because he has never been a DC

Thanks for clarifying.  I didn't think he was DC at USC, but was too lazy (and on my phone) to google him to double-check.  somewhat hard to believe that he has never been a DC.
