I like it when people project their personal feelings as fact. You say the last staff was lazy. Do you know the amount of hours they put into communicating with HS prospects? How much film they watched? They had faults in other areas that can be picked at rather than making things up.

Starting a nowhere near ready true frosh from down the road on the OL is the definition of lazy

So how come the stadium and field isn't named after Jerry Jones......if he is such a big contributor and advocate of UoAF?

Have you been to the University's Football Hall of Champions lately?? It's named after Jerry Jones and Jim Lindsey.

Oh how to compete in the SEC..................which we don't regularly do.

At least the big 12 had a team in the playoff.....for a conference of little "consequence".

where did I say the conference was of little consequence? I was talking about OSu and OSU only.

He didn't say that at all. He said they were lazy, two different concepts.

MyBoyCanaan: You're telling me a coaching staff did not play the players and lineup that they thought would give them the best chance of winning to "take heat" away from them?

IronHog: Sat there and watched it 5 years

Your words. Not mine. That is saying they intentionally failed.

We have to start with a great defense and built it inside out. I really disappointed with the new DC, he has seen his better days. We need someone who can create a since of urgency and can recruit to that level. I think this will be our achilles heel.

Hog fans are trying several remedies for the hurt of the last few seasons.

Coaches were not trying

Coaches were not playing the best players

Coaches were not recruiting the best in state players only white boys from NWA

Players have to want it

Just got to get 2 and 3 star kids and coach em up

Or let's throw screens to the blocker while Gragg sits on the bench

Last staff left B.B. the best two linebackers of the past 30 years and they start a transfer from Air Force that was MAYBE a DII player

I can do this all day

Maybe...just maybe...they didn't actually have favorites or were lazy...

Maybe Bielema was just actually a really bad coach who wouldn't let his coordinators have full reign?

What's the difference between being lazy and being bad at something?

Was Bielema an operative from the B1G trying to crumble the SEC from within?

You gotta either be schizophrenic or Randy Quaid.

Incompetent, lazy, or worked hard at being that bad

Oil money>that walmart money.

Always will be. No matter how bad it hurts.
Seriously.  You think T. Boone Pickens net worth is greater than any single one of the Wal-Mart heirs?  Or Johnelle Hunt?  Or Warren Stephens? Or John Tyson?

Or jerry Jones?  And yes I know some of Jones net worth is derived from oil.

These are just the Arkansans taken from the Forbes 400.  There could others outside the 400 that have a higher net worth than Pickens since the oil bust.

I'm gonna have to disagree with this. Petrino's classes werent all that special. We'll most likely never be like Alabama but we can be in the top 10 every few years with the right coach
Game planning, being prepared, being able to make the best in game coaching decisions are what can somewhat even the playing field against teams like bama.

Petrino was a great enough playcaller, smart enough leader, he was able to take the talent he was able to get along with a couple highly talented guys like Ryan Mallett, and make it work, for the most part. But even his teams were 0-4 against bama.

Bielema just proved to be too bad of an in game decision maker. Shame too.

And I might add in order to be able to have a shot against the bamas of the college football world, Arkansas has to up it's game in recruiting some. You can have the best, most genius playcaller ever, but there has to be some talent to work with too. Petrino couldn't consistently make that work. Bielema did better in recruiting, but coaching, as in clutch decision making weren't like they should be. Morris should watch game tape from the last couple years of hog games, and understand what needs to be done. We will see if he's up for it. I sincerely hope he is.
