Aka - will the players shake hands and hug after each game?

ErieHog

I doubt it.  I also doubt this thing lasts more than 5 games.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

I think it goes 7 games. It went 6 last year when Cleveland had Irving & Love out. Don't see it being easier for GSW this year. Still think the Warriors win tho

Nba is becoming like NCAA, it's hard to win on road. Will probably go 7 games.

GSW in 5.

It'll depend a bit on Lebron and the home effect for Cleveland, but this is about what I expect.

Splash bros. Psshh.

Luckily their role players are coming up big. Should be a good 4th qtr.

Hawg Red

Golden State won in 6 last year with no Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving playing just one game. GS is better this season but so is Cleveland. Hard to imagine Cavs just winning one game.

hoglady

Hard to believe that GSW is ahead after 3 with Curry shooting 3 for 12.
Not a good sign for Cleveland - if they don't capitalize on Curry's bad night.

Word is the Cavs players are too scared to shake hands after seeing what Kerr did to the whiteboard. Look for them to take cover in the locker room after the final buzzer.

I'd put it at a 50/50 shot at being a sweep.    GSW has been light years better than they were last year, whereas Cleveland has merely stayed healthier.

Curry can't play much worse than this, and they're going to cruise to about a 15 point win.

Would love to see "king" James go 2-5 in Nba finals.

Curry has 8 points, Thompson has 6, and the Dubs are up 20.

I think the Cavs will steal one. And that's it. They'll have one game where they'll shoot out of their minds and then GS will finish them off.

I think LeBron may have one SuperLebron Game, fueled by 15-20 trips to the FT line at Cleveland, that they win.  Beyond that, I don't see them doing this well defensively all series.

Sure has made a huge difference having Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love out there this time.

Cleveland got smoked by the Warriors' backups tonight.

Nipsey Mussle

Coaching made a huge difference tonight. Cleveland has the pieces to combat the mismatches but needs to use them more wisely. Also, stop force feeding Love in the post, especially with Iguodala on him. They won't win doing that and it's killing the flow the of their offense.

Buff

Golden State in 3.  They'll win the first one in Cleveland so convincingly that the whole city just surrenders.

ErieHog's comment about the Cavs' defense is the key.  It wasn't even that bad for long stretches of Game 1, and it still wasn't nearly good enough.  Kyrie Irving is a liability on D, and Kevin Love is not very good on the defensive end either.

lynbug

My opinion (who cares, right, lol) is that the Cleveland fan base probably thought that when they got James to  come home and join Irving and Love that they had the equivalent of Miami's James, Wade and Bosch.  If they don't beat GSW, the team that was taken to seven games by OKC, it will be very interesting to see what happens in the off-season.

Big Nasty 34

OKC got absolutely embarrassed by San Antonio in the first game then went on to win the series. I am definitely rooting for GS, just saying it could still be a long, good series.

Absolutely, and could go back to 2006-ish when the Wade/Shaq/Payton/Posey, et al Heat got destroyed in games 1 and 2 and then won the next 4.
Cavs got man handled in games 3 and 4 at Toronto too. A good team in the NBA almost always seems to respond well after a blowout. I'm not sure that will result in a win tomorrow night, but they will play better. We should see more LBJ at the elbow and I hope to God we see a ton less of Love posting up. I've decided to make it a win-win during this series and bet GS to win straight up each game, and then hope like hell I lose the money.

I like the NBA and that game didn't do anything for me either.   Come on Cavs, at least make it competitive.

Buff

That was brutal.  Kevin Love took the easy way out.

Big Nasty 34

NBA may need to seriously consider going to top 16 teams regardless of conference. A championship series of GS vs either San Antonio or OKC would be much more competitive.

Agreed.  The problem is the finals were last week.  This is just a consolation series.

SA can't hang with GS either. The only team that had a real chance was OKC and I had said from the midway point of the season and on. OKC matches up beautifully with them while Cavs/Spurs don't match up well at all.
Lue needs to push past the status quo and start making adjustments. Nothing to lose at this point.

They need to go to the paint (and foul line) early and often.  But they won't.

What the hell happened?  I missed most of the second half.  Did the Cavs go cold?

A prolonged stretch of cold shooting and too many turnovers from Cleveland, and quite a few long threes or easy lay-ins by GSW.  From about the 7-minute mark of the 3rd quarter to maybe 9 minutes left in the game (i.e., a span of about 10 minutes of playing time), GSW went on a 29-9 run.   At that point it was 91-62 and the Cavs conceded.

lynbug

Guess the Cleveland Superstar Trio aren't going to be as overpowering as the Miami Superstar Trio.  Then again, Curry wasn't around in Miami's heyday, was he?

rzrbackramsfan

Believe me or not but I picked gsw to win in four before the series ever started. I think the following teams would beat the cavs: gsw, okc, thunder, healthy clippers, maybe the trailblazers and the Mavericks. Also, maybe the heat if they would've had whiteside.  I think lbj is really good and everything but they just lack a good formula for success against really good teams.

He did by playing mozgov more.  I'm interested what else they can do.

Hogimus Prime

Cleveland messed up a couple years ago trading away Wiggins for Love. Love puts up good stats but he isn't put a team over the top big. He lacks the athletisim to play anywhere but the 4.  I mean you can't put him at the 5 and then a surround him with a smaller lineup.  He isn't a rim protector.

Lebron isn't goin to win any titles with Love and Irving has his sidekicks.  Outside that Cleveland has some good pieces and role players, but their number 2 and 3 options are not ones you win NBA titles with.

lefty08

Don't worry, lebron will team up with durant, paul, and carmello and he will be in the finals next year. Such an all time great

No, but the way they play team basketball would give them a better game than what Cleveland is right now. The Warriors are playing like the Spurs did 3 years ago. Beautiful ball movement and team basketball.
