In order for the Razorbacks to win we need offensive production from Williams or Harris.

In our SEC wins Williams and Harris combine for 27 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 turnovers. However in our SEC losses they combine for 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 turnovers. They are shooting 57%(12-21) in wins but only 31% (6-19) in our losses.

It's not guard play that's hurting this team it's Williams and Harris play that's killing this team. Our guard play is okay and getting better. I expected more from Harris this season and Williams was playing well early in this season. We need these guys to step up if not it will be up and down season. Their play has been up and down in SEC play.

Yes, it is.

If teams are going to start playing more zone against us, its going to be Williams that has to step up. Harris's game just does not fit well against a zone. With Williams height and ability to shoot a good mid-range jumper, he is the guy we really need going forward.

Yes, it is.

If Williams knock down the open jump shot it takes all the pressure off of the guards. He can exploit the zone because that's the open area in the zone.

Harris had 2 or 3 straight possessions where he got the ball at the dotted line in the lane, wide open. That is a perfect spot to attact the zone. Instead of turn and drop in the 12 footer, he dribbled into traffic and turned the ball over. Harris gets the ball in some good spots, but when he touches it, he becomes the bull in the China shop.

Teams will continue to zone us. If I'm the opposing coach I will play zone because Harris and Williams have not been making winning plays.

But at least Williams is making the smart play most of the time, which is attempting that 10-12 foot jumper. Harris, at 6'5", is trying to drive into the middle of a 2-3 zone and score. He can do that against man-to-man, but not zone.

Williams needs to play the high post against the zone. If not him, then Portis does with Kingsley down low. Harris is not effective in that scenario.

Even Keaton Miles might be more effective, as he is taller and has a decent mid-range shot.

Ya where the heck has he been? Is he hurt? He's supposed to be a good defender, which is something we need.

If Williams would just hit 3 out of 5 of those FT line extended's.. he'd be the perfect high post.. just can't knock it down consistently, even though they are open..

Got hurt early in the year, then just fell behind Williams and Harris. Just not really a spot for him right now.

If we can't beat the zone with our regular line up we have to make some changes. Move Qualls to the 4 and play Beard, Madden and Bell at the wings. Somebody has to break this zone defense by making winning plays.

We put up 82 against Ole Miss, with much against the zone. Our problem isn't offense. It's defense.

Until Anderson reins in the press when it's being shredded, and drops back to solid half court man to man, we'll struggle against decent offensive teams.

We need to mix it up on defense!

our fans are like our team, infatuated with the offensive end of the court, when in reality it's the defensive end of the court that is killing this team.

He is not a shooter.  I don't expect him to ever be able to consistently hit jumpers.  It's gotten better, but he is a junior and it still isn't reliable.

Yes and no.  Offense isn't really a problem, where defense is, but because we press and force tempo, scoring isn't really a great indicator.  Against Tennessee we turned the ball over too much, which is an offensive issue...though we don't always struggle with turnovers.  Because of the pace at which we often play, we are both going to score more points and give up more points than average.  We need to do what we do better both offensively and defensively....but correcting our defensive issues is the more pressing matter.

Correct....we are #7 in scoring offense in the entire country and #300 in scoring D. That is a HUGE disparity.

Defense effort and intensity is our main issue. However, we have to make shots and get offense from Williams or Harris. Despite our defensive issues we have win games when Harris and Williams made shots. They seem to play better on defense when they are makings shots on offense.
