The May-Day team was the team that got me to be a Basketball fan!  I didn't know to much about basketball and sure didn't have a team I wanted to watch.  But once I saw that team, I was sold.

Now I'm a graduate and did hard fan win or lose, the Razorbacks are my team.

I hope the NIL and portal don't make me feel less attacked.  I use to know everything about a player and now it seem when I start to learn about the players, they leave.  I loved learning about the players and how they made their way to my beloved university.

We'll see how thing shake out.

I should've made it clear. I wasn't saying a class was, but more of what team for the given season.

KMac, your post made me realize we all have our own special memories of the team (right/wrong).  But that's what makes us human and unique, Now that's a beautiful thing!!!

I always enjoy your intel my friend!

🙏🏾 Thank You

One thing in fairness I should add I expect them to give a scholarship to Devin Bale or whoever the punter is. That is fair thing to do. Unless they sign one I expect Bale to get that job. The Cabot kid is promising too. Sam Dubwig is a freshman from Cabot. Bale had the best punt of the spring game. 60 yards out of bounds at 1. I like him. So he could get one of those  7-8 available scholarships.

Quote from: ChitownHawg on April 22, 2024, 03:22:45 pmOliver said he wanted a more winnable OOC. We have always played at least one decent OOC and the rest are low level teams. The only way to avoid our OOC is to make them even easier which is running from our current schedule.

Our current OOC is winnable and moving to an easier one isn't the answer. Playing OSU in the second game is hard but not impossible. Win it and we become stronger.

Missouri is in the East so their conference schedule will be easier as well. With easy being relative.

This is pretty obvious but thanks anyway.

Mostly agree but there is no East or West anymore.

Quote from: HogFoo on Today at 12:40:00 amWhich most also forget, the worst luck we ever had with Hogs was after Nolan beat Coach K and Duke. Mike went to the NCAA and complained about how Nolan played defense. Nolan used to say, he wanted the other team to feel like they had just been in a street fight. Which, when you went against Corey Beck, you probably did.  Mike wanted the NCAA to bar the 2hand check. That changed everything for Nolans defense. The following year they made 2 hand check a foul. If you had 1hand on a player, As soon as you would go to put other hand on player back, foul called.  Not only that, then they started adding all these timeouts. TV to's then 30 second TOs. Nolans entire scheme was to run the other guys down with defense. Then score when they made a mistake with the ball. Or trap the player. Heck, now you can't even do that. It was like a concerted effort to nullify Nolans style of play.  Which it worked because practically none of what Nolan taught is now legal.

That's one reason why I kind of wanted Chris Beard to be the next coach. His defense is what Nolan/Mike's defense should have evolved into. But, I digress. I do hope Cal has a fire in his belly to show UK fans that he didn't need them to make his name better and that leads him to winning a title or two or three.. lol here at Arkansas.

Did Coach K get the NBA to change the hand check rule in 94-95 too or was that a coincidence?  We benefitted from the emphasis in college in the 95 NCAAT against Memphis as a late foul call sent Corey to the line.

NFL Draft by the Numbers: SEC on 17-year winning streak

By Mark Inabinett

Quote0 Players have been selected from Vanderbilt in the past two drafts. Only once in SEC history has a program gone three consecutive drafts without producing a pick. Vanderbilt did not have a player chosen in the 1993, 1994 and 1995 drafts.

0 NFL drafts have been held without an Alabama or Auburn player being selected. Auburn has seven empty drafts.

3 NFL drafts have not included a player from LSU, the fewest empty drafts in the SEC for the schools that have been conference members for all 88 drafts.

6 Consecutive NFL drafts have included an SEC team as the most popular provider of players, with Alabama and Georgia tying for the top spot in 2023 with 10 players picked apiece.

15 Players from Georgia were selected in 2022, the most in a seven-round draft in NFL history.

16 SEC players were chosen in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. That's the most players from the conference chosen in one round in the draft's history.

17 Consecutive drafts have had more players selected from the SEC than from any other conference.

28 Consecutive NFL drafts have included at least one choice from Arkansas, the longest streak in school history. The Razorbacks have had at least one player drafted annually since coming up empty in 1995. The top draft streaks for the other current SEC members are Alabama 37 (1971-2007), Auburn 26 (1977-2002), Florida 72 (1952-2023), Georgia 50 (1942-1991), Kentucky 26 (1939-1964), LSU 50 (1943-1992), Mississippi State 18 (1986-2003), Missouri 56 (1939-1994), Ole Miss 32 (1937-1968), South Carolina 28 (1950-1977), Tennessee 51 (1964-2014), Texas A&M 32 (1975-2006) and Vanderbilt seven (1955-1961). The record streaks for Missouri, South Carolina and Texas A&M happened before those programs became SEC members.

257 Players will be selected in the 2024 NFL Draft. The final one receives the nickname Mr. Irrelevant. SEC's Mr. Irrelevants have been Tennessee C Lamar Leachman in 1955, Tennessee B Tommy Bronson in 1958, Georgia DT Donald Chumley in 1985, LSU DB Norman Jefferson in 1987, Kentucky LB Marty Moore in 1994, Alabama DB Ramzee Robinson in 2007, South Carolina PK Ryan Succop in 2009, South Carolina TE Justice Cunningham in 2013, Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly in 2017 and Georgia LB Tae Crowder in 2020. The first three players never played in the NFL, but the past seven did.

Take a look at my changes.  I hadn't heard about McNeeley not visiting when I typed the original.

Dang, that's a lot of talent we're in on.  Fun problem to have.

I agree.  I also think it means we're in good shape with Boogie, Richmond, and Davis.

That should be recruits not recrui in headline. There are 3 here today. I talked to all 3. Arkansas has eight available scholarships for 2024. If they get Switzer that goes to 7. they got Worth and another linebacker wasn't a must, but two things changed. They had 5 scholarships open up and Alderman is too good for them to turn down if they can get him. They think he is the real deal just like Switzer. TOo good to turn down
Assuming Switzer comes as I expect
That would leave 2 Dts
2-3 OLM
Maybe a WR
Then best available. Alderman would get it if he wants it. It will be interesting to see what they do on Thomas. He is going to Colorado this weekend. Not sure Hogs are putting the fullcourt press on him. If they take him they are hoping for good upside. The kid from Texas Southern gets here tomorrow. My gut says he is higher on the board. But they want 2 and need them they have no DTs in this class. They may end up with an edge. I saw where Bai Jobe at Michigan State entered the portal. Edge wasn't a priority, but that kid was No. 1 recruit in Oklahoma over even Luke Hasz so that tells u what kind of player he is. No I don't think he is better than Luie, but the recruiting services did. I actually developed a good relationship with the kid when he was at that private school in Norman. I do know Hogs have reached out. he is too good to turn down if he wants to come in my opinion
