With the season just around the corner, let's get some predictions going.  Not the usual "Bobby Portis will be the best player" predictions, but something you think may happen that many other people aren't predicting.

Mine are

1. Anthlon Bell will be in the top 2 in scoring on the team.

2. Hogs will win at least 6 true road games.

3. Hogs finish in the top 2 in the SEC.

The_Iceman

Arkansas will be undefeated in Bud Walton Arena.

40MINSOFHELL

Arkansas goes undefeated in the non conference schedule with wins at SMU, Iowa State, and Clemson.

Would set the tone that's for sure.

Champs04

We make it to the NCAA tournament.

Now that is BOLD! Not only would that almost guarantee us a NCAA spot, but we'd probably be in the Top 15 going into SEC play.

Hawg Red

Arkansas wins the SEC Tournament.

I would say Top 10 if that happens.  We would have beat 2 top 20 teams, and we're already just on the outside of the top 25.  We'd be one of the few teams in the country going into conference play undefeated.

Arkansas underperforms early, but plays well in the conference tournament to make the NCAA field; plays for the SEC tournament title, but loses.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

I continue to have skepticism regarding how this team will perform, and until I see the Hogs play consistent, quality basketball I will remain skeptical.

IMO your scenario is as good as I can hope for at this time.

I would be stunned and shocked if we beat ISU up there.  When was the last time we beat a quality, well-coached team on the road early in the season?

We have a better chance @Florida than @Kentucky. I doubt Coach Cal will let us win in their place twice in a row.

This is by far the boldest prediction here considering recent history!

Keaton Miles isn't as good as Coty Clarke.

Jabril Durham plays more than twice as many minutes as Anton Beard.

Arkansas loses 2 conference games.

This team will have the best chemistry of any Hog team for the last 20 years and makes the sweet 16.

You and I are definitely on the same page. I too think we finish 1st or 2nd and I also think Bell will lead the team in scoring.

You are probably right but I will point out two things:

This current team knows how to win in Rupp and will not be intimidated

CMA has Cal's number. He is one of only two coaches, I think, to have a winning record against Cal with a minimum of 5 games being played.

Now this is the boldest prediction of all.  If Jacorey being 6'8 with his athleticism turns himself into a double figure scorer... more importantly a guy that CMA trusts enough to stay on the floor long enough to get those 10 PPG, I'm going to say we'll be a final 4 team.  Because that would have meant he got so good he beat out Miles, Harris, and to some extent Kingsley for the majority of the minutes in that 4 spot.

Portis will average a double double

We have at least one blow out loss to a really terrible team.

thehill1414

Madden wills this team to a road win in what seems like a single-handed effort. He scores 20 in the second half to turn a double digit second half deficit into a win

Kingsley has a triple double (blocks, points, rbs) as does Madden (assists, points, rebounds) in back to back games

The hogs win 26 games including 1 in the NCAA tournament

It would be unfair to measure Miles with Clarke. If you look at Clarke's stats coming in and while he was here, you want four more just like him. He was money.

Good enough?  That remains to be seen.

Talented enough? I don't doubt that.

But being talented enough, or even good enough, to win that game is one thing.  Actually winning it is another.

The team would have to play tough, smart, well-coached ball, and, like I said, when was the last time we did that early in the season?

Except Harris.  And Portis missed that all important one at the end of the game that would have iced it for the White.  Otherwise, I was duly impressed...particularly with newcomers at the line.

Over 300 steals for the season for the first time since 01-02.  All of Mike's tourney teams at UAB and Mizzou had over 300 with some going way over.

Steals and deflections are the key to MA's system. If we hit 300- lookout it could be an awesome year!  :razorback: I say we win 25 games if this happens +2 in the Dance.
