The defense under Burns did have a code red. They even knocked on the #1Tennessee dressing room in Knoxville before the game and issued a "code red". They then went out and dominated.  The  " code red" on Mitchell Mustain  may have been a myth.

And if our coaches scream, cuss, show emotion on the sideline and we lose, they are called bafoons, unprofessional, and people say our sideline looks like a fire drill. 

I love how when we lose, the knee jerk reaction is to take the complete opposite stance of what our coaches do, regardess if it is related to the root problem or not.

No myth.  Burns used "Code Red" as his catch phrase for the defense similar to "Uncommon" being used by BB for recruiting.  Had NOTHING to do with a code red like the Tom Cruise movie and anything done or not done to any players.  Burns was long gone along with his catch phrase long before the Springdale era.  Players bought into it so much that some indeed did have it tattooed on them.  I sat through a presentation by Burns where he explained it all and his philosophy.  He had a PowerPoint presentation with a cheetah and all kinds of things to make his point about speed, aggression, etc.  Lumped it all into the "Code Red" catch phrase.

Correct. Burns left in the early part of HDN's tenure to become Tulsa's HC. Big mistake on his part. His "Code Red" defense at Arkansas was very good and the defense was never as good after his departure.

Yeah, I'd take him back as Hog DBacks coach and CO-DC with Rhoads anytime.
