I am always ready for Hog Ball!

The football season has no bearing on my excitement for basketball season to begin.

I know I'm in the minority, but I rank Hog basketball above Hog football every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Has a lot to do with the era in which I grew up, but for me personally there is just nothing better than watching the Hogs run up and down the court!
Woo Pig Sooiee!  Can't wait for the season to tip off.  I'm hoping for a much more competitive team this season.

MountieDawg

When they pass and move to the basket they can reach their potential.

Portis gets whistled for his 2nd, 4:27 to play.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

You called it.

To be fair, I wasn't going out on a limb. CMA is very predictable with his lineups.  :)

Well that lacked any entertainment value.  Back to the second half.  Hogs should still win this one.
Quote from: MaconBacon on March 22, 2018, 10:30:04 amWe had a good run in the 90's and one NC and now the whole state still laments that we are a top seed program and have kids standing in line to come to good ole Arkansas.  We're just a flash in the pan boys.

porkulus

Need to pick it up these last 4 mins of the half.  Hogs look to be sleepwalking.

40MINSOFHELL

Shouldn't we be the ones that turn the other team over?

3kgthog

More of the same on the road. Maybe we can finish a 2nd half unlike the football team.

ErieHog

That was a pretty odd moving screen call on Madden.

Clemson's schedule consists of teams ranked in the 300's and they lost half of those!

Can't miss easy and one opportunities like that.

Sigh.

Disappointing.  After that one sided loss to ISU I wanted to see a bit more intensity and a sense of urgency.  Not seeing enough of it so far.  Qualls taking it inside and single handedly keeping us in it offensively.

Hogs need a distributor. No flow on offense.

Really wish Beard would play more aggressive. He doesn't create much at all on the offensive end.

Not a bad game by UNC, who is the announcer kidding UNC players don't have classes much less final exams.

Hogmeier

Nice last shot play. That can be coached, but is not. Clemson is not very good and we will probably win, but I don't think we learned anything from the Iowa St. loss. That is disappointing. Oh well.

Arkansas will win this by double digits. JMO but I'd like to see beard and Moses in the starting lineup for Madden and Harris. Strong leadership coming off the bench and beard is really impressing me
Re: So far the UC press conference is hilarious   Reply
Losing gracefully isn't taught in second-tier programs. See Arkansas, Cincinnati, et al.

Agreed.  I would like to see him penetrate and dish more.  He has the handles and quickness to make some things happen.

Ok folks, what does CMA need to do?
Needs to stop switching picks. Watch the Clemson PG come down the court and because Harris is in the back court pressing he has been covering him. Then their big comes out and sets the pick and we switch. Their PG is either beating Portis off the dribble or getting it to the big on the switch. It is simple...stop switching picks 30 feet from the basket. There is no need. Just go under the pick and have Portis or Kingsley stick with the big.

We gotta play better the second half, we forced a lot of terrible shots.  And can we please get the ball to Portis, he can have his way on these guys.

ErieHog

Bad rotations, lazy defense, poor defensive rebounding, bad shot selection,  few forced turnovers.....

...and it remains a 4 point game.    All in all, sluggish, but very winnable.

only 5 assists in the first half for a team averaging 20 a game. clemson successfully slowing the game down.

revolution

Looking bad. If we can't turn it around and win this game, I don't know what to say. A 1-point win is fine on the road. Just get it done!

Letsroll1200

Do not double post players! If their big guys beat us let them beat us. Too many open threes. Overall we are in good position to only be down four.
