I wouldn't pay to much attentions to Tweets from fans. Never know who is a Arkansas fan

He is talking about the fans, but come on. if they go up there and compete for 40 mins instead of about 18, fans are not quite as cranky. They know that

I suspect he also realized some of our fans are definitely with the team...as long as the team wins.

What was the old joke that Nolan and a lot of other coaches have used, about when they talked with fans?

"Coach, we are with you through thick"

No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

No one can say for sure what his tweet meant and who it was directed at so any advice is ill advised.  Bobby has a network of true supporters to lean on if needed.  Doesn't need help from Hogville in that department.

Sure makes BEING a fan a lot more enjoyable.
I am a Hog fan. I was long before my name was etched, twice, on the sidewalks on the Hill. I will be long after Sam Pittman and Eric Mussleman are coaches, and Hunter Yuracheck is AD. I am a Hog fan when we win, when we lose and when we don't play. I love hearing the UA band play the National Anthem on game day, but I sing along to the Alma Mater. I've never been on Twitter....but if he's referring to some mouthing by fans he better get used to it if he's not already. When he goes to the NBA it'll be much worse no doubt.

The stuff some fans tweet to players is unbelievable. Jim Chaney told me last night that Brandon Allen is the mentally toughest player he's ever been around simply for the way he's able to ignore the daily bashing he takes on his Twitter account.

The problem is many "fans" are basically plantation owner wannabes.  They think they own the program, and the players/coaches are just part of the program.

College sports is just another cotton field to many of these jackholes.

When said coaches are the highest paid state employees and these "fans" you refer to have invested their own hard-earned money into the program, they have a right to voice their opinions.

That being said, bashing a kids twitter account is uncalled for.

They don't have the "right" to be dicks to college kids and hard working coaches.  That is the problem with college sports today.  We've forgotten that the players are just amateurs because the coaches and schools make so much money.

And most of the fans invest less than $1000 per year.  For that, they get to have a team to be fans of.  That's really about all they have a "right" to.

And by "right", I mean privilege...

Can't say I've ever seen a true big money booster, I mean big enough to matter in the day to day operations of the program, ever bash a player or coach on twitter and I doubt they have on this board either.

That's usually reserved for people with over inflated egos, an unhealthy sense of self and a skewed view of their importance to the greater scheme of things.

Our fans are no different than any other teams fans. Social media now just gives the lunatic fringe an avenue to vent directly at the athlete. Those people always existed but social media have given them a direct line to the athletes. Players as a rule might want to avoid social media after a loss, or maybe not take it so serious.

IDGAF about other teams fans.  Using them as a measuring stick is just deflecting the fact that our fans are dicks who don't really know WTH they are talking about.

I am a huge Bobby fan ,but he can't expect fans to heap false praise on a team when they do not play well. If anyone is bailing on the HOGS, get on down the road. We don't need you anyway. Now is the time for Bobby to circle the wagons and use his leadership skills to help regroup the team. It wasn't the fans out there playing horrible defense. Own up to a bad game and be determined not to repeat. Once you lose, you don't want to lose again. We will play harder next time. We can't do anything about the last game; it's gone...... Maybe we can learn from it. We were behind the eight ball from the get. We needed to have played from ahead ,but we were behind from the start. Then instead of chipping back people tried to do things on their own and turned over the ball to put us further behind. It's hard to set up a press off a miss.

Bobby, the HOG fans are definitely with you. Take it to em HOGS..... WPS

I don't think any of them expect false praise after a loss.

I do think several of them expect their feeds to be 50/50 through out a season, but the reality is they see more of a 10/90 in +/- column. 10% praise after a wins, 90 % negative after a loss or poor performance.

Its no different than the traffic of this forum, but on a personal scale via twitter.
