I was gonna use "McGehee" for the "Mars" replacement, but didn't figure anyone knew where that was anymore.

Just think what a 31 game regular season would be like in MMQB.   :o

When we don't do well in football this place is just as bad if not worse. The baseball forum is the only sane place and usually void of full on retard posters.

Our basketball program is light years ahead of where we were 4.2 years ago. Some folks would have something to complain about
no matter what.

JumpBall is pretty unbearable at times.  It's no different than MMQB during the season.  All kinds of second guessing and criticizing while failing to realize that things are on the up and up.

Rockport here. When did you grad MHS? Prob light years after I did.

HSVhogfan2

There are quiet a few folks who will never accept MA short of Final Fours and a National Championship. These folks view MA as an extension of Nolan, and are still bitter at Nolan and thinks he was the consummate troublemaker. I would say, with a very high degree of certainty, that none of these people were ever fortunate enough to spend time, or even meet, either man.

It was one game, we played on 40 hours rest. They shot really well, we wasn't at our best. Other than losing last game for seniors, means very little.

While some of those guys are crazy, but I can understand where a few are coming from.  Basketball in general is very difficult to watch these days'  I don't care if it is a 31-0 Kentucky or Duke.  All it is, is drive into the lane, get fouled or kick it out for the three.  There is a serious lack of fundamentals on every team,  AAU ball I suppose.  Nobody knows how to play with their back to the basket anymore, even if they could, nobody knows how to may an entry pass either.   Defense is okay given how the refs call it these days.  Personally, I'd like to see more "no blood, no foul" to stop all the penetration.  Kids today play more defense with their hands instead of their feet.   Rebounding doesn't frustrate me as much as some, I understand gambling in the passing lanes and I think the gains outweigh the losses.

I watched the 95 SEC Championship game on the SEC network yesterday, both those teams would have beat the tar out of any team in the country today.  I loved Nolan, and I like Mike and I'm glad he is our coach.

I'm lucky if watch 10 minutes straight of any game, even if the hogs are on and they are winning.  It is THAT frustrating.  Good luck to the basketball hogs, I'll be rooting for them and watching them some.  But I'm ready for some football.

Completely agree.  I hate what CBB has become.  It used to be so great.

And the current team is so hard to watch at times -- they define "winning ugly".

Sure is, but double check for your ranch when you order your cheddar poppers, even if you order it with ranch and even if they say ranch when they read you the order and even if it says ranch on the receipt....still probably don't have it.

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

Same, it seems like every time the team loses people that never post over there show up and it gets ugly.

I try not to post anything over there after a loss. If you ask any questions about what if or if we would've only done this you will be crucified by some bipolar knuckle dragger. It's definitely entertaining to read some of the keyboard karate that's going on though!!!

There are folks over there who vehemently insist Todd Day was the best Hog basketballer ever, "hands down", "no one else close".

I am willing to listen while someone makes that Day argument, on its face, but "no one else close" means the speaker is from the Romulan nuetral zone.

The idea that he isn't, is what is alien and deranged.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

yea it is tough over there.  You have your small minority of pure haters.  Then you have normal fans that like to critique after a loss or critique the things done poorly during a win.
The latter are still very happy that the Hogs win but then there are people like you and other mods that group both of these together, call them both haters, and ban people that did not break a rule.
