Marine Corps, 76-80, Hats off to all you guys. And you guys that fought, welcome home.
"If you are able, save for them a place inside of you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go.
Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always. Take what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own.

And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind.

Wins are the only things that matter when the game ends.  The mistakes that happen in the game are corrected by good coaching during the week. A season of near losses means you won every game.

In my opinion Veterans Day and Memorial Day are two of the most important holidays of the year.

I enjoy these posts every year and am amazed at the amount of military service that is spread throughout all of us on Hogville.

I look forward to next November to see who is added to the list.

Thank you to all that posted and all that have served!

Thanks for your service to our country.    US Armed Forces - You guys make the impossible ...inevitable

I never served but spent time at Fort Leonardwood, MO (born there) Fort Knox, KY  and Fort Richarson, AK.

My father fought in WWII(1943-45), Korea(FECOM 1949-1951)  and Vietnam(1965-66, 1968-1969) Purple Hearts in each campaign.   Unfortunately, I never got him to talk about any of it before he died.
