US Navy. Started career in San Diego (anyone ever remember the REAL Gaslamp District?), then Pearl Harbor (anyone remember the REAL Hotel Street?), then ended it in the crap hole called Norfolk Va... :puke:

1986-2004.

STG1(SW/AW). Got the AW pin during an exchange program while a member of a Carrier Group during a deployment.

Various warships from FF's to DDG's.
7 major deployments from 6-12 months each. WESPAC's to MED Cruises.
Spent way to much time at sea but loved most of it. Especially the deployments... :)

Jim Bo From Fort Smith

Hats off to Marine Lance Corporal Cole Collums of VMA-211 Avengers.  He was wounded in Afghanistan repelling Taliban fighters who destroyed 6 Harrier jets at Camp Bastion on September 14.  He was with other Marines in a maintenance building when all hell broke loose.  With no intelligence of enemy strength, Collums and a handful of other Marines stormed out of the building with no helmet or body armour to engage the Taliban fighters.  Collums was hit with shrapnel from two RPG's, but all but one Taliban fighters were killed.

He will be the grand marshall in the Veteran's parade at Van Buren, AR tomorrow beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Main Street.

Hogville prediction formula:

1.  Insert bad news prediction. A loss, a recruit going elsewhere, a coach leaving, etc.
2.  Tag "hope I'm wrong," on the end.
3a.  Enjoy a correct prediction.
3b.  Act like you're relieved you're wrong and celebrate with everyone else.
