Former Devil Dog here! 1986 - 1992. 1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Headquarters & Service Co. Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, HI.

Spent six glorious years in the The USMC. Unfortunately, I had to get out because the wife (fiancee at the time) did not want to be a Marine wife. Still a Marine at heart, although the body is falling apart...HA! WPS!
Some people wonder all their lives if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem. - Ronald Reagan

76-79 here. Guess you guys know tomorrow is Chesty Pullers birthday. Happy birthday Chesty, where ever you are.

"If you are able, save for them a place inside of you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go.
Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always. Take what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own.

And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind.

Happy Bday lewis b puller! "Take me too the brig where the real Marines are"

I broke my leg at Quantico in OCS in 2006, but never made it back in.  Props to all you Devil Dogs!

I saw a shirt the other day on a old guy: "No longer that mean, and not very lean, but by damn always an United States Marine!"
Oddball on NWA: "I'm drinking wine and eating cheese, and catching some rays, you know. "

They don't tell officers in the Corps. We fill out a dream sheet, and based on the needs of the Corps... Infantry will be somewhere on that list. No better way to be a Marine than to be the tip of spear.

I had one of my boot lt's explain it too me as it was still too a certain degree based on what the individual wanted(dream sheet) and the needs of the corps, kinda hand in hand!

Ben Steiger

That's a good as explanation as any. Your SPC (Staff Platoon Commander) at TBS has a say to it, as well.
