It's over. Hogs win by 5 and Mistry is tied for the individual lead with two other girls; Woad is one and still on the course. Will they have a playoff? Dunno.

Evidently so. Probably wind in Vegas.

Note that four of the six regionals were won by SEC teams, and the Hogs lost in the quarterfinals to A&M at the SEC championships. LSU also lost in the quarterfinals.

Quote from: donnie on Today at 03:30:20 pmNo, I'm saying the question in and of itself is silly. If you are displaying skills that translate to the NBA you are likely playing winning basketball. They go hand in hand. There are exceptions, but if Brazile could actually create wouldn't you have said that made our team a lot better? He couldn't and we stunk.

What exactly did you want Brazile to do that he didn't do?

Your opinion is that the question is silly.  I disagree and so do others.

The point as it relates here to Gafford is that he demonstrated his intensity in college and has continued to develop in the NBA.  Everyone is the NBA and NFL have the physical tools to make it to that level.  Once they get there, the difference is sometimes the six inches between the ears.  Gafford is a good example.  Does Brazile have the burning desire to make it over the long haul or not?  So far that may be the biggest question in the minds if those whose jobs depend on picking the best future players.

You think we'll only have 10 scholarship players?

I assume your answer is that players who are projected as draft picks should focus in college on an audition and be concerned only about demonstrating the skills those making projections believe they will need in the NBA.  Correct?

Quote from: popcornhog on Today at 02:14:52 pmWe are gonna have to find 2-5 guys like that to sit on the bench and hopefully stick around 3-4 years though.

He might be too good to fit that mold but not good enough to play substantial minutes, I guess?

Hard to say when we don't have a complete roster yet.

Hindsight will tell.

Another phenomenon of the NIL/Transfer era is roster size. Very few coaches even want 13 scholarship players. Most believe 10 is the magic number with a few PWO's and WO's.

Having a 8 man rotation is the norm meaning with 10 players that you limit the amount of angriness, pouting, or dissension from the bench guys. If you add three more to that, it's a mess.

I expect 10 with maybe a spot saved for a guy dropping from the draft.

No one was questioning Brazile's motor prior to his ankle tweak. Remember when he pulled down like twenty boards in a double OT stanford game? He got in his head post injury and the team surrounding him was just not that good. Everything that could go wrong did.

Gafford really didn't improve at much of anything at Arkansas. He certainly did not become a more complete player. His per possession stats really didn't change. Gafford did not draw charges. Are you confusing him with Jaylin Williams?
