Quote from: Razrpig256 on Yesterday at 07:53:10 pmI do wonder if there would be a difference in going 2-4 with a series win this weekend and 2-4 with a single win in each of the remaining series. Both scenarios get you to 19 wins which *should* be enough, but the second one gives you four series losses on the year.

Regardless, I think our most straightforward path is winning the series this weekend. That should keep us safely in the top 8.

It would take nearly complete resume ignoring to even consider the Hogs not being a top 8 seed at 19 SEC wins. 18 would as well considering what our RPI and Q1 win count would be.

Pull for NC ST the last two weekends. They play UVa and then Wake.  Wake gets a shot at Clemson at home this weekend.

Quote from: philiphog on Yesterday at 07:46:10 pmNot accurate. We would get a regional but not a super with that. One more win would put us at 18-12 in the SEC if we only win 1 more game. We would not be in the top 10 with that record.

It would take a number of teams to pass us. Our resume is strong and still would be comparatively to the other teams competing for one of last top 8 seeds.  ECU, FSU, Wake, UVa, Oregon St etc  Quad 1 wins, Quad 1 and 2 wins we are strong. SEC win total compared to a Wake at 12-12 in the ACC or FSU and UVa who each have 14 ACC wins right now. ECU is 11-5 vs Q1 and 2.  Hogs are 18-9.  Our 12 Q1 wins is 3rd in country behind UK and Clemson. Our RPI is still 3 and isn't going to fall far even with losses considering who the last two series are against.  Sure the human element will come into play. Why Or St is a threat to be in the top 8 as they'll be inclined to give the West Coast a spot if possible.

Quote from: hoglady on May 05, 2024, 09:27:16 pmThe ACC had bragging rights last year over the SEC 6-4.
Probably not as strong at the top (Georgia and Alabama) but competitive for the most part.

SEC had 59 draft picks to the ACC's 41 draft picks.

As for the SEC 'riding the coattails' of our top teams as Chi put it, our bottom 10 teams had more NFL draft picks than their middle 10.

If it meant slotting in Big Country for us to win a national title, I'd rip that RS off so fast it would make everyone's head spin.

He couldn't do any worse than the rest of them especially the DH spot.
