Sucks for him, but I think it is a coincidence with the timing and unrelated to our opening.  It wouldn't surprise me if he is stepping down because Todd Butler felt pressure to change up his staff. They have finished below .500 for three straight seasons, and hit in the .260s this season. Walker was probably only a year away from having to find a new position anyways.
