Came as a bit of a shock, but Alsvid is retiring. One of my favorite sprinters at Oaklawn. Always gave his all and won some big races.

Alsvid retiring off a nice win and certainly looked like he was still sound that day.  Mr Z was a nice horse who was just that to me... a nice horse.   Only 2 wins in 25 starts and maybe if they had run him on an easier circuit he could have won a few more.  After he won the Ohio Derby in 2015 they must have thought (as I would have) that they had something really good.  But again a nice horse
