Watched an interview on a podcast and this guy is what I want in a Hog uniform.

He seemed driven, motivated, ready to prove the doubters wrong. His highlights are, well, highlights but impressive.

Some guys just seem to have it. I believe he does.

Brazile went 4/7 from 3 in the Duke game by the way. I would call that auditioning his NBA skills but that's just me.

Quote from: PorkRyan on Yesterday at 09:30:08 pmMy opinion is he either isn't a very good hitting coach or he isn't a very good recruiter.  Having the holes in the offense last year and then having it fall apart this year tells us it's one or the other or both.

This is where I am. These past three seasons have been so frustrating. Especially with LSU and TN having some great hitting teams during this same period. If they can, why can't we? Something needs to change.

Like I already said. Nothing to do with your original question.

Quote from: bphi11ips on Yesterday at 09:50:41 amAssuming this is true, and I don't question it, do you think a player should use college to audition projected NBA skills or work on developing new skills?

Some here suggested early this year Brazile should focus only on rim running and hunting 3's because that will be his role in the NBA.  That's how he'll create space.

One mock draft analyst around that time suggested Brazile needed to work on his overall game.  That was my thought at the time.

Basketball strategies, buzz-words, and rules change over time.  But what goes around usually comes around.  At the end of the day, the game is about 5 players trying like hell to score the most points before the final buzzer.  Athleticism and body type is where it starts, but basketball is a game of little things.  Little things learned and practiced over years and years until they become second nature.  After that comes the intensity and competitive nature of a champion.  One turnover or loose ball could be the difference in a game.  Gafford showed that intensity at Arkansas as a work-in-progress.

Why on earth would you not give out 13 scholarships if you're allowed to give 13?  So many reasons to use them all, and not a single one that makes any dang sense not to.

Quote from: donnie on Yesterday at 05:31:39 pmIt doesn't.

Play like he did in Maui (ya know when we looked like an elite team; crazy what having a guy play his role at an NBA level will do) and don't let people get into your chest on drives. If he did that for a season he's a top 20 pick. He didn't.

I'll ask again because you didn't answer what in the world did you want him to do that he didn't do that is making you ask this question?

Play all season with the intensity he played with against Duke.

My opinion is he either isn't a very good hitting coach or he isn't a very good recruiter.  Having the holes in the offense last year and then having it fall apart this year tells us it's one or the other or both.

LSU has been in the business of buying players for decades. BK is full of it.

What he is really saying is that LSU's collective is a step behind some of the other elite programs in the SEC.
