Definitely not playing our best BUT....

we are still winning and that says a lot. Having a team capable of winning games, close games, after playing inconsistently for a half or both halves and still able to win is really a good thing. NCAA basketball is all about peaking at the right time. We could very easily be 2-5 right now....hoping for a run like last year to put us back on the bubble. Instead we are winning close games, won against a very good UGA team on the road and still not playing our best. I said before the season I thought the end of January to the first week of February will be when we start to see this team come together. I still think we are on track.

After the UF game I think we can go on a run and reel off 3 straight. I think at Ole Miss will be the game that can trip us up however I still feel it is possible to win a bunch more games before we go to UK and to USCe to close the season. I hate the idea of going to those two places back to back to close the season but really have no choice. I also think aTm is scary good right now with the return of Jones. I am glad they are our 3rd to last game and it is at home. Would have been nice to finish the season at home unlike last year which left a bad taste in peoples mouths after a bunch of huge wins only to get demolished at Bama.

The UF game is not unwinnable on the road.     THey have a very important match up with Alabama tomorrow, I think, and if they can't win that, their hopes for the tournament are essentially done; we may be fortunate to catch a reeling Florida team that could let go of the proverbial rope, at just the right time.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

They beat Bama by 2 tonight.

Yeah and the SEC is actually slightly improved this year.  No world beaters except Kentucky but way more solid teams than normal IMO.  After the game against Florida I'd say the conference slate actually gets a bit easier.  A 6-2 start with the way our schedule is built would be great, particularly considering we really haven't played our best ball in that period.

On pace for that 20-4/19-5 start I thought we could and should have for the NCAAT and seeding.  It is just happening differently than I anticipated.  And for that, I'm hesitant to look too far ahead right now.

To me, Florida isn't a must win although it is a great opportunity with how they have played this season.
Quote from: MaconBacon on March 22, 2018, 10:30:04 amWe had a good run in the 90's and one NC and now the whole state still laments that we are a top seed program and have kids standing in line to come to good ole Arkansas.  We're just a flash in the pan boys.

it's the kind of game that will determine whether we're a 9-12 seed or a 3-6 seed.
